Transcript for "What’s New in Apollo with AI": Hello. Welcome in, everybody. Welcome to what's new in Apollo with AI. I am Blake Hudson. I'll be your host today. Really excited for this session. We got a big group. Hundreds of people joining today, so you are not alone in your thirst for AI knowledge. I love it. I got folks already. You're Spencer, you beat me to the punch. I would love to see where everybody's joining from. We got Baltimore on the board. I myself am in sunny Southern California and Los Angeles. It's actually not sunny today. It's great. But let's just act like it's sunny. You know? Gotta make folks jealous still. And, yeah. This is great. While you're doing that, I am going to share my screen, get some slides going so we can get into it today. I got some really exciting stuff that we're gonna be doing in terms of, showing you some AI tools within Apollo. Give me one sec while I share that screen. There we go. Let's see here. Give me a thumbs up or something. A yes in the chat if you can see my screen. Awesome. Appreciate that, guys. So the icebreaker. I'm curious to know, how are you using AI for your sales team today if you're using it? Just drop it in the chat. I'm gonna see what some of the answers are. We'll read it off for the group. I know here at Apollo, we are constantly adding new AI features, helping you all level up when you use the tool. So interested to see how folks are using it out there. I'm seeing a lot of not getting it, don't get it. Well, we're gonna help you out today. You're You're gonna leave here better than when you started. That's for sure. We got cleaning list duplicates, poor information hygiene. I love that. Automations to nurture. Okay. Cool. Well, today, we are going to help you see what is new with Apollo and AI, things like smarter leads, better calls, better copy. Someone's using it for world domination. Nick, man, when when you do dominate the world, just let me know. I wanna be on your team. Alright? So Apollo, as you may or may not know, is the end to end AI sales platform. We are trusted by over 3,000,000 users across 500,000 companies. Really excited about that. I should introduce myself. Who am I? Who's this guy talking to? My name is Blake Hudson. I am the global sales trainer here at Apollo. I won't go into too too much detail about my background. Just know I've been in SDR. I've been in AE, a sales manager, and now I'm in sales enablement, helping folks like you level up. Cool. Couple housekeeping items. I'll say this a couple times because he usually gets asked a couple times. You will get a recording. Alright? We're gonna make sure this is recorded for you. So if you have to step away or you have to, I don't know, leave for whatever reason, you'll be able to come back and rewatch. Someone said AE. What's an AE? Account executive, just a closer. Someone who's closing deals, carrying quotas. You know the highs and lows of being a quota carrier one month, you're on top of the world. Next month, you're might be looking for a job. Right? Hashtag sales. Couple other quest items too. We have a q and a tab. Alright? So the chat's gonna be great, giving feedback, letting you know where you're from, that kind of stuff. The q and a is gonna be great for you asking those questions because we can give you specific answers for specific questions. Also, other folks can upload it. So if, you know, other folks have that same question, we can prioritize that. Other high housekeeping items. We don't usually have any issue with this, but no spam. Let's just keep it positive and focused. So now is not the time to drop your company sales pitch or your your LinkedIn. If you want to do things like that, we actually have a wonderful place for you to do that, and that is our Apollo community in Slack. I'm gonna go ahead and give you just a moment to take a picture of this, this QR code if you're interested in that, or you can always just go to Apollo.io@community. I'm gonna sneak a sip of Red Bull in here while y'all are doing that. Awesome. That is a great community. We see a lot of folks leveling up in there. As for resources, I want you to look in the docs tab. So you should see a couple different you see chat, q and a. There's a docs tab where you can see some of these things, for future reference. Alright? Andy prefers White Monster. Alright. We all have our preferences. I'm just a simple man. I'm a simple regular old monster guy or a Red Bull guy. Also, captions. So for anyone that wants this in a different language, you can go ahead and do that. There is a captions tab. Just go ahead and click on that. And quick agenda for today. So I'm gonna go over a couple of slides, just kinda introduce you to AI, specifically at Apollo.io, and then the real fun begins. My colleagues, James and Andy, are going to have an AI demo battle, and you, you audience, get to vote on which one you like best. And either one of these guys are gonna have bragging rights for the foreseeable future, so I'm pretty excited about that. And then finally, we'll have a session for a q and a, alright, as well as the q and a throughout. So don't don't think you have to wait till the end to ask those questions. So adopting AI in sales. The first thing I wanna talk about is just big picture. AI is not here to replace humans. It lets them focus. So it'll take things like your busy work, and it automates these tasks. I saw some of you in the audience are already using it for things like data entry or research. Right? AI helps free you up to do the things that humans do best. Right? Build relationships, ask great questions, close deals. Right? That's what we're going for. Some interesting stats here. So sales accounts, salespeople make up nearly 9% of The US workforce. Right? Which is great. That's a big percentage. But only 3% of Claude's usage comes from sellers. So there's a significant gap between the folks that are using AI and the folks that are in sales. I see sometimes a lot of consternation or fear about, I don't wanna get left behind or it's too late for me. Well, this should show you that not only is it not too late, this is a chance for you to get ahead. You got a early start to the party. More specifically, teams that figure it out will pull ahead in this race to adopt AI. Alright? So talking about what's getting in the way, a couple of clear things. Right? 41% of teams say their biggest issue is untrusty untrustworthy or irrelevant AI output, which I won't go into too too much detail about each of these bullet points, but I feel like that begs the question of intentionality. What specifically were you looking for? And the gap between what you get and what you're looking for should help inform that second, third, fourth attempt. 27% cite lack of understanding or expertise. I'll be honest with you. I really empathize with this group. When I was first adopting AI, just simple stuff using chat GPT, for example, It felt a little overwhelming to think about all the things I could do with it. And I think that's what overwhelms a lot of people. They think about all the things they could do instead of starting narrow and building from there. And then the last one is just most teams try AI. Right? They gave it a shot, but they get burned and they back off. Maybe they sent the email and it just didn't fit right or whatever the case may be. And that's where I would say it's really important to think about that second and third effort. A lot of folks, they kinda they try AI once and they give up, and it's unfortunate because they're missing out on some wonderful opportunities. So the real question is, what do the top teams do differently? At Apollo, we're able to get a lot of good data to help you all out. High performing teams build internal best practices. So it's not just a rep over here trying this out, a rep over there trying that out. It's it's something that is clear and consistent that can be repeatable by the rest of your team. The next thing, they train their reps. They document workflows, and they stay human in their approach. Right? So that's gonna be something that happens from, like, a top down perspective. How are leaders preparing their reps to get the most out of AI? How are we using that to create best practices and standard operating practices? And lastly, what is the mix between that human interaction and Apollo interaction? Lastly, that team, they're two x more likely to plan further investment in AI. So it's not just a matter of trying it once, but they know they're going to be committing to that. At the end of the day, our mission here at Apollo is we want to make sales as easy as possible for you. Right? We want to give you this out of the box, end to end platform that can take your go to market and transform it. K? So today is about that. It's about helping you see what features are available to you with Apollo and AI. So with that being said, I want to introduce you to our guests, our our, experts today, and let them introduce yourself, get into the demo, and, more importantly, get you guys voting. I'm excited to see who wins. I'll let you go ahead, Andy, and introduce yourself. What's going on, everybody? I'm Andy McCotter-Bicknell. I am the product marketing lead here for Apollo AI. Been here for a little over a year, and my job pretty much just consists of talking with customers, learning how people are using Apollo's AI features, figuring out what's working, what's not working, and just trying to make the experience as great as possible. So I'm looking forward to, crushing James. Excuse me. I mean, just, do you know, having a great show for everyone here. Alright. With that said, appreciate that, Andy. James, why don't you come on stage to introduce yourself? Hi, y'all. Happy Wednesday. Hope you're having a great week so far. James O'Sullivan, part of the Apollo Academy team here. Been selling for, like, twenty years, everything from start up small business through mid markets enterprise. It's time to be part of this because, there's a lot of new features, AI related features in Apollo. We're gonna be covering four of them here. I know Andy wants to make this very competitive, but I'm just looking for all of us to, you know, upscale each other, elevate each other, and hope everybody sees more success. So and I think voting will be indicative of that. So I'm excited to be here. Too. I think we've got a good session. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Just to be clear, this is about the users. Right? Like, James, like, this isn't about you or me. This is about customers. This is about helping everyone level up. I appreciate that. That's great sentiment. Let's let's keep that in mind. Nice and clean balance. What I'm saying. I think that goes what I'm saying. Certainly. Okay. That's fair. Well, I said it. So Yeah. You guys can play nice if you want. I got money on this thing, so I'd appreciate it if you, you know, give it your all. I'm trying to win that bet. Alright? So just keep that in mind. Okay. Okay. Let's go with round one. We are going to have Andy begin. Okay? He introduced himself first. Why not have him go first? And then in round two, we'll flip the script and we'll have James go first. Alright. I'm gonna stop sharing my screen. Andy, I'm gonna give it to you and let you know. Your job, Andy. Alright. Yeah. I don't need you to tell me that, James. Okay. So here we go. I'm just gonna go ahead and share my screen. Let's get it going. Okay. Cool. So, actually, you know what? First, you know, I'm gonna stop sharing my screen because I think this is important. Look, everyone. I'm very excited to show you, first and foremost, the prompt assistant inside of Apollo. But before we dig in, I really just wanna say, you know, this contest between James and I, you know, you're gonna hear a lot of noise from James. He's very adamant about making this whole showcase about him and winning. But by doing this, I think, you know, he's really taking the eye off the ball. And the real purpose here, which again is helping Apollo users win. And because at the end of the day, that's what this is all really about. And so in the spirit of that, you know, just like how I won't let James distract me, I'm going to share an AI feature that keeps Apollo users from getting distracted. And what do I mean by that? Apollo users from getting distracted. I mean, since, you know, the rise of AI, the possibilities for sales and marketing productivity gains, you know, it's been enormous. But soon, you know, it it became clear that there was a catch. You could only capture those productivity gains if you knew how to write a great prompt. Otherwise, you know, the output just wouldn't be good, it'd be inaccurate. It'll all be for nothing. And so it began. You know, we started seeing dozens, hundreds, thousands of sellers committing to becoming prompt engineers just so they could make use of AI. You know, they had good intentions. I hear you. But at Apollo, like I said, you know, we believe no seller should really need to become a prompt engineer in order to make AI work for them. So here's what I mean. Now I'm gonna show you my screen. We'll we'll get this going. Okay? Okay. So here I am in Apollo. I have a list of prospects that I'm going to be going after here with some basic filters here. And, you know, the situation here is that I'm a seller at Apollo, and I'm looking to you know, for early to mid stage software companies in North America that are growing their sales team, but I want to get really granular here. I want, to make sure that I'm looking for job postings so that I can actually make sure that my outreach is really personalized. So I'm going to add more in-depth research to narrow my list in here. And this is a perfect use case for leveraging AI, you know, just taking a list from good and turning it to great. Okay? So in order to find really granular job posting details and adding those to my list, I'm going to go to Apollo.io's power ups. And I'll click research with AI, then run a custom AI prompt. And then you'll see this window open here on the right hand side here. Now, I'm just gonna type in what I want, in plain English here. And I'm, you know, I'm not gonna think too much about, you know, prompting best practices, adding in context, who I am, the specific things that I'm looking for, like, hey. I I just really want to summarize any active sales job postings. And what's going to happen now here are two things simultaneously. First, Apollo is going to take that simple prompt and turn it into a legitimate prompt that will get you the best, most accurate results. And then second, it's going to act on that more legitimate prompt to research each company on this list and provide the research that was requested. So, you know, if you want to see the improved prompt, you can go into this prompt tab right here, and you can go over, to see exactly what Apollo generated based off of the really simple prompt that I put in. So you see the difference here? I literally just put summarize any active sales job postings, and then it added all of this detail to make sure that it could actually give you, the most relevant information. Okay? I really didn't have to do much of anything. And then here on the left hand side, you can see a preview of the results to make sure it's actually giving you the information that you're looking for and that things are accurate before you spend any credits. And so I'm gonna go down this list. Okay? So it looks like Vicarious. They don't have any act active sales job postings. Sift currently has one posting for an SDR. Workspot, no active sales jobs. No active sales jobs. Okay. We got some re some sales jobs, at Atlan for regional director of sales. Regional okay. So we're getting some results again. I think that, honestly, this is the future of AI in sales. Okay? Users going about their day with AI, working quietly in the background to improve their workflows, really without the users needing to do much more than they normally would. Okay? So let's do you know, we we just kinda did one example there. Let's do one more before we pass it over to James. Okay? So let's do explain this company's offering to me like I'm 10 and in less than five sentences. I think that this is really important just to make sure that you fully understand the company's offering before you reach out. And the same deal as before. You know, I'm going to insert that very simple prompt and then Apollo.io is going to generate a much more powerful, prompt here on the right hand side without you really having to do anything. And then on the left hand side, you're gonna notice that it's going to start generating a preview for you to take a look at. Okay? So Atlan is a company that helps, groups of people use and understand data easily. Excellent. Company that helps keep important information safe and secure. Okay. This is, you know, we're taking the jargon out of the situation. We're really getting to the meat of what a company offers. And so to wrap things up, you know, if you wanna be a prompt engineer, that's cool. There's lots of opportunities out there. But now with Apollo.io, you don't need to be one in order to make AI work for you as a seller. And so with that, I'm going to pass things back over to you, James. Let's see what you got. Thanks, Andy. Great job. That was cool. Yeah. Thank you so much. Means a lot. So I'm gonna load up my screen share here because I'm gonna start us with a simple one, something that's been requested for a long time by users. I do these daily trainings if you're a customer. You might have seen me in some of those, but something that comes up all the time is people asking for company lookalikes. Is there any lookalikes feature in Apollo.io? And so we finally got that now, and there's no easier way to start using AI. A lot of people in the chat were saying they're not really using it yet. It's frankly, a lot of it's pretty over complicated. Sales is difficult. You're stressed out. There's a lot to think about. But this is gonna be an easy one for you, something you could start doing now. In fact, if you have your account, you wanna log in in another window. I'm sure you could think of one company you'd like to find lookalikes for. You can do it with me. So I'm at the home screen here. We're gonna go to companies. Now a good chunk of users pretty much never get outside of people search here on the sidebar. We're gonna go to companies because this is gonna use that data to look for companies that are similar. You could find leads from within those then pretty simply. So let's go to companies, and you'll see all the different filters here. If you're used to people search only, the filters in company's a little bit different. Some stuff not necessarily applicable across both, but you'll see a lot of the same ones. And then you're gonna see that company filter that's always been there. Now this has been a filter in the past that allowed you to just search for specific companies or to make a simple inclusion and exclusion list. That's something that comes up a lot too. You can always just add or paste list of companies to their websites. People just say, I don't ever wanna see those in my searches. But there's is an, any of you could put in different company names, and then you'll see right below that something that's new. It's got a beta tag. You should have access to this now is look alike. This uses Apollo.io's AI. Again, to me, this is the simplest version of AI, something that you're probably already doing. If you've ever been at a big sales org, you know that as soon as somebody closes some great deal or atypical deal, everybody starts looking for things similar to it. So you probably, at some point in your career, potentially done this manually. It's pretty rough that way. But here, we're just gonna use the AI. So I'm gonna pop in a company I know. It's a mid market company. One I worked at in their sales org. I'm gonna pop in careerbuilder.com. A lot of time we have so many startups that use Apollo. A A lot of times you start with small accounts, you start working into the mid markets. Maybe you get CareerBuilder as one of them. You wanna start finding similar companies. So whatever you put in here, you can put one or multiple, and we got our first filter, and it's gonna start narrowing down based on a number of attributes around that company. So I dug into it. It uses everything from AI, going out and using a a AI to see what companies are similar. It does something called leveraging generated vector embeddings from organizational related keywords. The best I can tell after talking to some of the engineers is it looks at lots of data and keywords around the organization and is looking to find companies with as many overlaps as possible. So I put in career builder, of course, you're gonna start to see there's a whole bunch of companies here that it thinks are lookalikes. Now you don't need to stop right there, though. Again, Apollo has tons of data in here as well as the AI power ups, so you could continue to bring in more data to synthesize or, eliminate some of these options. So the nice thing about lookalikes here is you can continue to use all the Apollo data or any of your data to filter it further. So I'm gonna go to account location. Oftentimes, people wanna look for leads in the country that they reside. I'll narrow it down there. Potentially, by size of account. Again, it's taking in to a, it's taking in a lot of data here. It's not just gonna be looking for companies that are exactly that size. It's looking for enough overlap that it could be a good fit. But in this case, I just wanna be looking at the ones that are big SMBs, small mid markets, potentially. And then I'm gonna try to throw one more thing on here just to make sure I got great leads. Now you'll see I'm narrowed down to 470 net new as in companies I've never saved before within Apollo.io, orgs that it thinks are lookalikes to career builder. Before I add another filter, actually, I'm just gonna go check this list, and you'll see, you know, some of these are gonna be fairly obviously lookalikes, direct competitors here, Simply Hire Jobs, iHire, recruiting. So this is looking good so far, but I'd like to get smarter. Again, with all this AI and all this automation, you could start working leads differently in a bigger way. In fact, the people that are booking the most meetings, having the most success, tend to break their leads up so they're not all prioritized or messaged equally. So some obvious easy filters you can throw on top of that lookalike would be, one, your website visitors. If you You don't have that set up no matter what plan you're on. You can use Apollo.io website visitor tracking tool. That'll start saving all that data and even approximating their intent. Now you could start saying, hey. Find companies that look like this one that have also visited my website. I'm gonna treat those a little bit differently along with the ones that are out there searching for something like what I'm selling with buying intent filter right here. So those might be the VIP ones in terms of the look alikes. Additionally, you have access to all these other filters. So if you're not, delved into signals or news, for example, you could start segmenting lookalikes that might have some situation that's very similar to that company you sold or have sold in the past. Obviously, during discovery, you learn some things, but you tend to get a richer understanding of why they bought during onboarding or implementation. There might be some situation internally with signals as well as the news filter. Under more filters here, we got news. Now you can start getting really close to what that company was going through, the type of company, what it's doing, and really breaking these up in ways where you could, even with your automated emails, be speaking to them a lot more specifically. So that's my round one here, company lookalikes. Real simple. Hopefully, some of you are doing it with me. And if not, you could hop in and do that later, and I will pop off screen. Is Blake gonna be coming back up for this voting? I hate to put Andy through this, but I didn't come up with the format here. I'm back, y'all. Let's see here. We're gonna pull up a poll. James, can you pull that up, or do I need to pull that up? See, we gotta stop screen share. There we go. Awesome. Alright. Time to vote. Not persistent with Andy. Lookalikes with James. It's okay. It's just a little bit of a slow start. It's all good. Chilling. Okay. It's a still slow start. There we go. Just just need to, you know, kinda just, like, ease into this. You're oh, hey. What's going on here, guys? What's going on here, guys? Oh, okay. How how long are we gonna, keep this thing open for? Anybody know? Anybody know? There's still people there's still people voting. Okay. James, you're influencing the vote here in the chat, man. Yeah. Questionable tactics. What's, hey. Yeah. I just I really think that, you know, again, the audience is the winner and the users, everyone who is checking this out. You know, I what can I say? I I think that you guys are you're you're you're excellent and, I guess that's not enough for me to think about. Yeah. And by the way, that's okay. Blake Blake mentioned earlier about the Apollo community. On any of these ideas, Andy and I are both members of the Apollo community. Again, Apollo.io/community. If you're not there, it's hosted on Slack. Really couldn't be easier if you're already using Slack, and we'll be in there talking and maybe giving some examples of how we're using some of the things we're showing you today, answer more questions there. So if you're not in the Apollo community, good opportunity to join. And there's a ticker there. Thanks, James. Alright. Wanna put in the chat the official results for round one. There is a second round, so there's time, Andy, to to win the crowd over. And while you're doing that, I'm gonna drop the poll so we can share screen. Or, James, can you do that? There we go. Appreciate it. Let's see here. Let's get back to it. Alright. That was lookalikes and prompt assistant. Time for round two. We're gonna have, James, you go first this time, and then Andy will follow-up. Best of luck, James. You don't need it, though. We're gonna be looking at Apollo.io versus AI writer. Alright. I'll let you guys get to it. I'm a stop screen share. So I'm gonna be getting to ask Apollo. One of the coolest I think it's I company lookalike's really cool because it's nice and simple, and it's something that pretty much everybody wants to take advantage of. I'm gonna show you the AI feature that I think is the coolest thing in Apollo. If you're and anybody that's still typing their notes during meetings, I'm not even gonna give you an option of getting this set up no matter what plan you're on. You could test it out today. So let me get back to my home screen here. Here we are. And I really think that the last round had any, a winner was company lookalikes. Again, it's a simple, easy thing you you can do today. Even I get overwhelmed with a lot of these AI features. So I'm at the home screen here, and I'm gonna show you Ask Apollo. If you don't have Apollo conversations set up, there's a great learn Apollo course that'll walk you through it. It'll take fifteen minutes. But to give you some context of where Ask Apollo lives, it's within conversations here on your sidebar. That's our AI powered meeting recordings, something that'll take your meetings, automatically record them, and then do quite a bit after that. So I'm gonna hop into a call from earlier this week. It was a call part of the reason for some, heated nature between Andy and I was I surprised him with a fifty five minutes so that I can try to, drive a little bit more of competitive urgency for both of us. But I recorded that meeting using conversations. You'll see the sub the title for that meeting here. And, of course, it records the entirety of the meeting. You can expect that, has a transcript, all the basics of what you'd be looking for. So, for example, there's my meeting, got all the notes, etcetera. So the AI in conversations, again, another reason I like this tool is because most of the AI, you don't have to do anything with. It just does it for you. You'll notice there's the meeting recordings, but on the side here, the AI is breaking down what happened in the meeting, the next steps, and who said them. It's also gonna have the objections and pain points and who said them, a full breakdown. And then it's got every question with a time stamp. You can go straight to it. Now you'll see something here. It says, ask anything about this meeting. And this is our way of doing something we started to see as at the biggest sales companies, the best of the best were starting to pay for their own chat GTP license, you know, spending the 20 to $40 so they could start putting in their notes, meeting notes, emails, transcripts, and ask questions for their follow-up emails, proposals, or just to understand what's going on there, certainly when you gotta potentially report back to leadership, that sort of thing. So we we saw that happening in a lot of companies, but not in a big way. We figured, can we make this something that everybody can do and easily and right at their finger like, it's living right where you wanna be. So I'm gonna click in to ask anything about this meeting, and you'll notice it pulls up this ask Apollo slide out. It's in beta. You have access. If you set this up today, you'll be able to test this out. And this is like bringing in the AI directly into Apollo. Imagine chat, CTP, or perplexity, that something like that, where you can start to ask any questions about what happened in that meeting. So and what your your imagination, creativity, or just what you're truly curious about, there's really no limits here. And I'll just give you an example. This was a little bit of a heated meeting between Andy and myself, you'll see here, where I think Andy was frustrated with my attempts to increase the rivalry here. So let me just ask a question of the AI based on based on what was discussed in this meeting, who is most likely to win the webinar competition. Based on the conversation, James believes he will win the webinar competition. He expresses this confidence repeatedly even when it Andy attempts to go. So you could you could read that. But it'll anything you ask it about your meeting, it'll answer pretty much instantly. Now, nice thing about this is you can copy it out. Sure. But even easier is you can add it directly to the notes attached to the record. So you get an answer here that's really important, something you wanna remember in the future. You don't need to comp. You don't need to type it down. You just hit add to note and select which records or contacts it could be direct attached directly to the contact, to the meeting, to the account, even to the deal. Additionally, I just wanna show you one other thing here that you can get pretty creative with these questions, and that comes in Andy when you start using Apollo across multiple meetings. Something that came with the last update is no longer is Apollo limited to just that meeting. Now you can actually select multiple meetings, whether that's multiple meetings with one contact you're trying to sell. It's a long term time. Or it's multiple meetings that you're trying to multithread within an organization. Or potentially, it's those follow-up calls and meetings you gotta keep pulling through or trying to upsell, making sense of what's happened over a longer period of time. Even for managers, leadership, owners, you could start pulling multiple meetings across different people on the team and asking questions about what's happening, how are people responding to it. It really tees up some very quick and easy insights. But I'm just gonna give you one example of something that you think potentially the AI wouldn't be able to handle here. How does Andy feel about James? And these types of questions work great with one meeting. They work even better the more meetings or calls that you allow it to to look into. So I'm just gonna ask a simple one. Andy's feelings towards James are complex and seem to shift throughout the conversation. So, again, it can break down within a conversation the changes in tone, cadence, pacing, language, what it was being discussed, and then synthesize that into a feeling of, in this case, there's potential outright dislike from Andy to James. So it's a wonderful feature. I just wanna show you one other thing in terms of, what people like about this if you haven't used it before. Of course, the AI will auto draft your follow-up email. If you're not doing those right now, this is gonna be this gives your prospects a link to the recording, a full breakdown. You don't need to keep it there. And then one feature that a lot of people don't know about, but once they do, they love it. You can go to the transcript here, and if you wanna get clips of anything that happened in your meeting, you could just highlight it and hit the little film clip that's shareable inside your account or externally as well. You can give it a title. It'll be then attached to the record. There's a clips folder. You can see all of your clips. You could share them with the prospect. You could insert that link into your proposal or follow-up email. Makes it very, very simple. So if you don't have conversations, try that out. Apollo is a game changer in my opinion. There's a lot of great AI that you don't have to do anything for, and this clip thing is, to me, one of the coolest features here, how simple it is. So that's my segment here. I think we're gonna bring Andy back up. Yo. We're back. It was a pretty good demo there, James. I'll give that one to you. I thought that you did a great job. I what I didn't appreciate was you tricking me into that meeting just to get that vote. It just seemed a little dirty. I don't know. I'm that's not how I like to usually compete, but that's telling of your character. So that's that's fine. Well, thank you. I didn't hear anything you said, but thank you. I'll let you do it. Am I muted or something? Okay. Alright. Anyway, like, Jan Janet, Blake, can you hear me? Am I am I on? Okay. Alright. Cool. Well, in either case, I guess he chose not to actually hear me. In either case, let's get on to this. So, for this next example I'm going to share, I'm going to give you a warning because it might not seem like a game changer on the surface. But as we go, you'll see how powerful it can be. Okay? The reason I'm prefacing this is because my second example is Apollo new AI email writer, which, you know, writing emails with AI was one of those first use cases that we saw potential in when ChatGPT came out, a few years ago. But here's the issue. Right? It really didn't take long for sellers to realize that, you know, if you create generic sales emails, you won't be any better than when you were before. In fact, it can actually probably make things a lot worse for you just because you'll end up in spam folders, you'll burn a bunch of your domains, or you just might not, you know, represent your company very well to your ideal customers if you're not careful. And it became really clear that you need to use relevant business and contact signals along with specific directions for tone and messaging in order to get the results that you're really looking for. And with Apollo.io latest updates to its AI email writer, you can get exactly that. So let us jump right in. Okay. So let's say I am continuing my flow from the previous example here. You're right. I I was building a list of contacts at fast growing companies that are hiring on their sales team. So the first thing that I'm going to do is add a contact from that list, just to make sure that when I do generate some, copy, that's actually relevant to the list that I'm putting together. Okay? So Alex Marber, he, is a sales manager here at, Advanta, actually. And so, perfect, point of contact for someone who's probably hiring lots of sellers, someone that you'd wanna reach out to about Apollo.io or something like that. But you can add any other contact that you want there. And then I'm going to really just click insert AI variable and full AI email. That's literally all you have to do in order to get some kind of content there for you. But once I do, you you you know, you're gonna notice a couple of things. Number one, there's this panel that opens here on the right hand side, and it's going to offer a lot of different things for you to adjust to make sure that the email that is generated is to your liking. So this is, you know, the information that Apollo.io's AI uses to generate relevant emails, and so I'm gonna go through and select a few things. Okay? So first, the target audience. You can create persona profiles in your settings that consists of info like your company description, your value prop, calls to action that you prefer, and that ensures that Apollo.io's AI understands your company and your offer. Then you can scroll down and you can actually select the different types of signals that you want, the emails to reference. And so in my case, remember, I'm trying to reach out because, of growing sales teams. Right? I want to reach out to people that are actively hiring, and so I'm going to click add new, and then you're gonna see this relevant job posting signal that I want it to reference. It's gonna cost one credit. If you want, you can also add in a bunch of other different signals that you want company buying signals, professional network posts, long form published content, company news. But, you know, I really wanna just kind of keep this to, the job postings. I want to be very specific to that campaign. And so I'm just going to leave the relevant job postings there. And then I can also select different information like tone. And so, for me, I usually like my emails a bit more casual, not too formal. I'm not too formal of a guy. And then I can provide some additional guidelines, that I want as well. And so I'm gonna paste them here. Don't use jargon or em dashes. Keep it short and succinct. Make sure the opening ties back to job openings in sales. That section is optional, but, you know, I always like to add in some small details just again because those are some of my personal preferences that I like to add on to my emails. Okay. So I clicked submit, and then you'll notice that Apollo.io's AI worked here on the side to really, you know, start referencing the persona profile to then also, finding relevant job openings, to make sure that it can give you that relevant messaging in your email. And then just like that, you get this preview that you can kinda react to. So I'm gonna close this out now here on the right hand side. And then okay. Hey, Alex. I saw Vanta's hiring for sales roles across APAC. Looks like you're scaling fast. Apollo helps start ups like yours find and engage top sales leads quickly. We can help your team build pipeline faster with our AI tools. Wanna see how we support growing sales teams. Open to a quick chat. Okay? Pretty decent. But let's say, you know, I'm reading this. I wanna adjust it a little bit. You know, that's really important. Again, that we're not using a bunch of credits while we're still trying to figure stuff out. And so I'm actually gonna go back in here and, you know, I don't wanna change the target audience. I do like the direction of, you know, referencing those job postings, but I'm actually going to make things a little bit more direct, and I'm going to adjust the directions here. So, I don't want this to be as short and succinct. I wanna add in a little bit of more detail. I want to, include some bullet points here in the middle of the email that tie Apollo.io's benefits to pain points that the company is likely experiencing from quickly scaling a sales team. Right? So you can be very high level with, the directions that you give Apollo.io's AI or you can be really, really specific about how you want the email to be structured. And it's going to take all of those instructions and put that directly into the email that it's going to generate. K? So once again, taking a look at your content center, looking at those relevant job postings, and it's going to pop out and say, hey. So Avanta is hiring several roles, again, across APAC. But then you're gonna see what adjusted our platform can help you find high value sales prospects quickly, automate lead outreach, enrich contact data, track sales team performance. So, again, adding that extra layer of granularity that I was really looking for, trying to tie back to some potential pain points that I'm guessing that they're going to be experiencing as they're really ramping up, hiring on their sales team. But, again, you know, if you wanted to go back and you wanted to adjust that even further, you could do that, again, without spending any more credits. And so that's kind of the idea there. And that's that. Again, you know, the goal I'm gonna stop sharing there. I'll just close by saying that, you know, the whole goal of Apollo.io AI is to make it just stupid easy for sellers to leverage AI into their existing work streams. You don't need to be an expert prompt engineer. You don't need to change every aspect of the way that you work. If you really just apply a couple of tweaks to your day to day, you will be in the top cohort of sellers. I really believe that, and it's still very, very early as the data that Blake was showing, suggests earlier in the presentation. And so just wanted to leave with that. Over to you, Blake. Kilda, Andy. Appreciate y'all both. James and y'all y'all are this is great. I'm interested to see what the poll looks like for round two. So I'm a go ahead and pull that up and let the people speak. My heart's beating really fast. I don't know, like, I just I need I need water. I don't have any more water. I I don't know. That's just how I feel. Okay. I think the poll should be open. It's okay. There we go. And I hope it is a tie. Andy, you're up to a a quick lead? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm feeling pretty good about that. You know, James, how does this make you feel? Is this I feel very good about it because I think, there's four great things people could use. I think, you know, if they're gonna use anything today, it's probably gonna be lookalikes and ask Apollo. But, you know, down the line, they'll use your stuff too. Well, that that that doesn't seem real, though. I mean, it seems like I hope people would do the AI writer. Lunch break or whatever whenever they're watching this. And, a tie would be great because it sets up, a tie breaker down the line. Well, it's also interesting because it looks like AI writer like, this is just crushing Apollo significantly more than, Lookalikes beat out, prompt assistance. So that's just an interesting little thing that I noticed. Boy, this is this is kinda devastating for you, James. I mean, compared to the first round, it's it's something you might wanna consider. You guys don't know how boxing scoring works? Tell me more. I'm not because this is this is obviously a a win for me. I mean, if we add up all the votes across two, rounds, it it might be closer than anything. That's true. That's true. Adding it all together. And, you know, I think that we can just close it out now. I think that I don't know. It feels pretty good to me. That's good. We're gonna get the q and a right. So if, if you haven't got your questions in, I think we're pulling some good ones already. I just wanna make sure we have that set up. Yeah. Thanks, to the audience. You all did a great job with q and a. We're getting to as many of those as possible. Some of them are rather niche, you know, so we'll do our best to to get to those. I did pin in the chat a link for you to go see our daily trainings. We offer daily trains for new users. We talk about how to book meetings via sequences, how to build, safe safe searches. So if that's something you're interested in, go ahead and check out that pinned comment. And we got another poll. No winners or losers in here. Just wanna get a feel for how folks want to move forward with Apollo.io. And while we're doing that, I would love it if you just drop more questions in there. We'd love to see where your mind went with all this. Yep. And it's and, I think, like, you showed that earlier. At the top right, you'll see a little q and a tab up there, Right? Right next to the docs where you could find some of the resources and links that were brought up during this. But if you pop over to q and a, I think you can upvote questions if you were gonna ask it or thumbs it up as well as pop new ones in there, and I think we're gonna start going through those. Just a second. K. I'm gonna share my screen because I got a plug. Give me one moment here. If you found any of this interesting, you are going to thoroughly enjoy our event on June 11, AI prompting one zero one for better pipeline. We're gonna have our experts, Tyler Phillips and Samuel Elliott, on board. Man, I'm excited for this. This one's gonna be big. Very practical, but big results for you and your business. Alright? So just keep that in mind, June 11. If we have a link, I will drop that in the chat. And, let's see. We'll we got some questions in here. I'm a go ahead and stop sharing. Just actually, I'll leave that up while I look for q and a. I can start with one, Blake, that I saw. So one that was specific was, asking about, hey. Would you recommend building the AI email the way Andy did it here or via building out written, or building out AI written custom fields in lists and bringing those into the sequence emails? That's a great question, and, it it totally depends. I know that that's kind of a non answer, but here's here's kind of my thinking. I like building out emails directly in that, email writer kind of experience that I was showing, for, like, one like, very singular types of campaigns. I just find it is a more kind of a focused kind of experience for me personally, whereas the other one, it looks more like, you know, like you're you're building out different fields. And so it's totally up to preference. It you you can build some really powerful sequences by building out custom fields with with AI content as well. We can definitely probably, showcase a demo of that in future, webinars as well because you can really build out some awesome, like, multi step personalized sequences that reference a bunch of other fields. You can get crazy complex with it too. But the for for the purposes of this webinar, I was trying to showcase just a really easy way to get started. And so that's kinda how I how I think about it. So and there's a lot of great questions here. I figured we'll go through some of these, especially I'm trying to prioritize the ones I see people asking multiple times in different ways. So, I saw a couple questions around this, probably because of what you're showing with some of the AI writing capabilities with email. But, I I got down Dick, Obendorf wrote in a question about multiple domains. Does Apollo.io support using multiple domains to be sending emails? A few other questions around that. Yes. It does. Not on the free or basic plans. On the pro plan, though, you can have up to five domains per user. Right? Five mailboxes. And on the custom plan, you can have up to 15. So, any questions around that? If you're on pro or custom, you'll notice when you go to link your mailboxes, it'll tell you how many you still have available and something definitely to take advantage of. M, MJ Ruiz Medina was asking and a couple other questions around this about, hey. When we make lists in Apollo.io of people or companies or filtered list, is that something I could push out of Apollo.io? So two ways to do that. One is, of course, linking your CRM, and we're gonna have a training on that upcoming trainings page Blake posted just on CRM integrations, but it's real easy with HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, and there's a bunch of other integrations as well. But you can also export into CSV. So if you wanna base you know, spreadsheet. So if you wanna export those filtered list of people companies, you can do that. You can also import them that way if you wanna take that. So if you've been working out of a spreadsheet for a long time, you wanna make it easier to work them, enrich them, Apollo.io data, AI stuff, you can import that that way as well. We have one from Carl m. Can we use Apollo.io to get, to identify prospects searching our keywords? Yes. You can. It depends on what you mean by keywords. The way that our intent data works is it surfaces companies that are researching topics that relate to the topics that your company, plays in. So, like, for example, Apollo.io, sales intelligence, lead management, those are kind of the topics that really resonate with us. Go to market platforms, those types of things. And so for us, we would probably have those three types of keywords listed in our intent data filter. And that's going to help us identify different companies that are searching for those terms, consuming content around those topics. And so that's how I would recommend leveraging, intent data specifically. We have another one here too for, from Thomasin. So when I click research with AI, can I just enter what I want in natural language and then Apollo.io sends back all the matching people? Kind of. So, the research with AI button, that is really, like, what you can use to surface power ups, which is a little bit further down that workflow than I I think you're referencing. You can use Power Ups to really add additional context or data insights that are from outside of the Apollo.io platform. Because, right, we have lots of data. We have job titles. We have company information. We have, funding info. So much information, but there's still lots lots of stuff that's not in our platform. And so, we use power ups and the research with AI button to kind of help you prompt what other information you wanna layer in on top of Apollo.io data. What I think you're looking for is just describing, like, hey. I'm looking for Fortune 500 CMOs in the Bay Area. Something that simple. And we are working on a very similar feature to that. Should be able to satisfy all of those types of questions. So you should be able to really just use natural language for that initial search as well as adding in, research to really refine the search down the road. And so that's coming very, very soon, like, seriously in the next, like, month, two months. And so stay tuned for that. A number of questions around that, Ask Apollo.io and that conversations feature I showed, which again records your meetings in Teams, Google Meet, or Zoom. If you're looking for that course I reference, it's, like, fifteen minutes long. We'll walk you through getting it set up today. Just go to the docs tab right next to q and a. You'll see there's a link there for free course, free just today, AI powered call recordings. You can click there. It'll take you directly to the course. It's me again walking you through setting it up. And I show you all those features and and more that I didn't have time to show you in that final video as well. And I saw a question a couple questions related to this, but I'm the one I wrote down was Carl m related to keywords. There are keywords search in there. Most people know where industry is. Sometimes people find where, SIC, SIC codes are. That's under the more filters button where there's a whole bunch of filters available to you as well. But in that industry and keywords filter, you'll notice that there's a keywords portion that's mostly buttoned up and closed. If you hit that arrow to open it up, you'll see you can hit an advanced tab and choose what type of keywords to search for. There's four boxes there. I would recommend checking all four. It's probably defaulting to two, but I would add SEO, their website, as well as, social media. And for a number of the situations I saw in chat or q and a, and the what I'm gonna test out for the gentleman selling to, dealerships is oftentimes the things that aren't well served by industry or sit code are well served by those keywords because most companies, even the bad websites, have some basic SEO even done by their server, you know, like GoDaddy, that sort of thing, just around what they sell, what they're trying to do, and certainly within their social media. So that's a great place to search and use keywords for a number of those situations I saw, and I'll test it out on that dealership's idea. There was this, question that just came in from Ali Schneider. Is there a way to warm up an email domain using Apollo.io? What do you recommend to avoid getting blacklisted? And that is coming very soon to Apollo. And, again, in a matter of a few weeks, a little over a month. Don't quote me on that one. We're working on it, though. So very, very soon, you will be able to do that. There was another one too I wanted to get to. And while you're looking for it, I saw Pat Tonarielo. And if I said anybody's name is wrong, I apologize. I'm not I'm good at sales, not necessarily phonetics. But saying, does Apollo do multichannel sequences, I. E. LinkedIn and email? Yeah. And if you haven't leveraged any of the engage features in Apollo, so, like, email calls, but primarily sequences, you'll see there's a number of steps there, everything from the automated emails, the manual one stuff you can check, it shows the notes of the record right next to it before you hit send, you if you wanna personalize it. There's four different types of LinkedIn tasks. Some of them you might not be doing really great and subtle, especially for those long term time bigger deals. And then you've also got action item. That's your catch all for some of the things I saw folks pop in and chat. Like, we're not integrated with WhatsApp or SMS right now, but that's normally where I put those like, handwritten notes with an action item and phone calls there. So you've got a whole bunch of options right there. I was just answering a question from Pat. Does Apollo do multichannel sequences? In other words, LinkedIn plus email. And I was just saying, yes. You can leverage email, phone, and manual LinkedIn tasks as well. And so I would definitely recommend that, as you're kind of trying to figure out where your audience primarily responds most to. Then I found that other question that I was, looking for. It was, do you recommend using Apollo.io with another AI engine like DeepSeq and ChatGPT? This totally depends on your use case. I have my preferences. Like, I really love using, Anthropics Claude for AI email writing, and I think that's actually the default when you are generating, AI email copy within Apollo.io. However, you know, when you're in power ups, you'll notice that you can select, it's either perplexity, anthropic, or chat g p t, LLMs from either of those three providers, depending on which one you like the most. And so I really recommend just, like, going and and seeing what works best for you. You can select any of those three from the drop down, when you are in that prompt tab that I was showing. And, you can just see, like, what, yeah, what what what the output looks like if that's giving you the best result. Yeah, I would just really encourage you to play around with it. And we're always updating to, the prop the, the specific models that we're offering in there too. So as AI companies start releasing new and improved models, we're also, adding those to the platform too. So, you always have that option to continue testing as time goes on. Another question about conversations that ask Apollo.io feature and their meeting recordings asking if it integrates with any other phone services. Right now, it will integrate with your video the the primary video meeting platforms, but it just recently started incorporating call information too, transcriptions of phone calls. That's leveraging the Apollo.io dialer, which is in if you have the pro plan or custom plan, you have access to the dialer. As long as you turn on, hey, record these and transcribe them, that is also accessible within conversations. Nothing outside of that, though, with the if you haven't set up the Apollo.io dialer, you could set it up to bridge over to your cell phone or another number, of course, whether that's the inbound or the outbound ones, whatever you'd like. And I think we have time for one more if you saw anything good, Andy. Yeah. Nick asked, does Apollo.io have an AI calling feature such as sales AI? So we I'm I'm not a % sure, what you're referencing when you say just sales AI, but I can just say that, you can add phones to a multichannel sequence, and we're also working on the ability to, enable a parallel dialing system. So being able to call multiple numbers at a time, just to really improve your actual connect rates throughout the day. And so that's something that's coming very soon. But if you have any other, like, follow ups or you wanna clarify anything about that, just let me know. So I think that's about it. We're, a lot of great questions, a lot of great engagement. Right? And, I had a lot of fun doing this, Andy. Maybe we could do another competitive one in the future. Maybe even raise the stakes a little bit, make it a little bit more interesting, get some action on it. Yeah. I I I listen. You want to, like, get one of us fired. Like, how like, what more stakes do you want? Like, what I'm uncomfortable right now, even just talking to you. Would have been it it certainly would have been a better webinar if right now somebody's voted off the island. But thanks for coming. I think we'll be getting I think James mentioned everybody who will be getting the recording, the on demand access. Of course, it'll be in Apollo.io Academy as well in the future. So I think that's about it. Anything else that we needed to highlight before we take off, Blake? No. Just, appreciate your engagement today. I hope this was helpful for you. Don't forget that event on June 11. And, yes, this is recorded for you. So you'll be able to access chat, q and a, and all those fun things. Appreciate you. Thank you very much. Alan. Later. Bye y'all.
