Transcript for "Daxko Club Automation Mobile App: What's New in 12.6 (and What's Next)": Hello. Good morning and afternoon depending on where you're at. Alright. Just getting our first slide up here as we wait for a few more folks to trickle in. And while we are giving it just a couple of minutes, I do just wanna cover a couple of things here. So, while we are doing this webinar, we'll go through the, agenda in just a couple of minutes. And then, after that, we are gonna cover a couple of features. And during that time, if you can take a look at your chat during that time, we'll have a poll going. So we'll have a couple of different polls going, if you're able to get to that and respond to those. It just has to do with, some of the features that we'll be covering. It gives us a little bit more information to know what is helpful to cover in the future. And then what we'll also, want to do is just, as we are going through some of, covering some existing features, touching on some new features, if you're able to and logged in, I think it's always helpful to just kind of follow along. I'll go through what the feature is and then how to use that feature. And so, at least for me, I it's always helpful to kind of do it as I'm looking at someone else so that you can go through the motions, and it sticks a little bit more sometimes. But this will be recorded, so you'll also be able to follow along in the future if you wanna just kinda focus on watching, what's happening. So, I will also just start off here with an introduction of myself. My name is Alyssa Talaise for anyone who is here that I haven't had the opportunity to speak with. I'm the product manager for the mobile app. I've been with Club Automation for six years now and been working on the app, over the last two years. And so, just for anyone who isn't familiar with product, I work with our team of designers and engineers to, basically look for opportunities where we can provide value for both you and your members through the mobile app. So I really appreciate everyone that took the time to be here today, to learn more about the app. Hopefully, you know, the goal here, obviously, is that you come away with it learning something new. And if there isn't anything here that we didn't cover that you're interested in, please let us know. This is the first time that we're doing a webinar like this, so it would definitely help inform any future webinars that we do around the mobile app. And so with that, let's jump into the agenda here. So what we wanna cover today, is just to review a few key features. And then, again, we'll show you what those features look like to the end user and then how to set those up on your, like, staff side. And then, we'll touch on a couple of the new features that we introduced with 12.6, and then talk about what's coming with 12.7, and then cover a couple of maybe not so much fun part of it, which is all the Apple Google developer accounts, which I'm sure there might be questions of, and and then some q and a at the end of it. So there is a lot to cover. I'm gonna jump in so you have enough time here. Alright. So first, there are what we wanted to do is really, dig into features that we feel really help increase your engagement, retention, and, ultimately, different type of features that can help drive revenue. And so, I think these ones we have lots of features in the mobile app, but, again, we really wanted to focus on ones that maybe are not being utilized to its fullest potential or, you know, I know during go live, there's a lot going on and a lot of information that you're absorbing. So you can easily sometimes forget some of the features that we do have available. So really just wanting to dig into those and show you, why they're valuable, how to use them, and then how to set them up. So wanting to, start off with the club announcements. So the way that I'm gonna show this is, first showing you what the feature looks like to your member and then how you set that up. So right here, at the the screen we're looking at now, the home screen oh, and and, actually, before we continue on this, it might look a little bit different what we're seeing these screenshots here for anyone that's on the NextGen app. What you're already getting a sneak peek into is the, 12.7 version that we'll have. So I'll touch on that a little bit more at the end, but just wanted to call that out so no one's confused of, like, hey. Our app doesn't look like that. It shortly will. So, to start off with club announcements, this is your best way this is your best marketing tool in the app to be able to connect with your members, to share things with your members, to let them know of any new recovery spaces or a smoothie of the week or, any new rewards programs you have, new membership, offerings. Like, maybe you're starting to sell apparel in a store. I mean, like, anything that you have going on that you wanna communicate to your members, is what this club announcement tool is for. At the end of the day, we're all fighting for time and space for end users with, letting them, you know, know about updates. And so we have that through text, through push notifications, and emails. So being able to have another channel where you do have that opportunity to reach out to your, members is really important. And so, this really is the best tool for that. And so you can see in there in, this club announcement, it's under the what's happening. And so it is, interactable for your members. They can click on it. And then next to that, what's happening there is where you can see, the larger announcement and what's included there. So, this is what it looks like for your members. Now I wanna jump over to how do we set up a club announcement and where does that live. So give me one moment here, and I will show you. Okay. So, I am on the staff side of CA when you're logged in, home page here. In the member outreach, tool here, you can click on club announcements at the top. Once you get into there, if you have announcements that already exist, you'll see the list there. And then you can also filter by what announcements you wanna see and then you can add a new announcement. So I am going to pull up an announcement, the same announcement that we just saw in the app just so we can see that. Active lens here, and this is the commit to recovery one. So once you add an announcement or edit one, this is what the page will look like. You can add your title. You can, add whatever kind of picture that you want or no media at all, and you just have an empty state. You can also add in, a link to a video, which will also play within a web view, which means we're not taking the user outside of the app if they're clicking into that web view, or clicking into that video. They'll just see it within that club announcement section. So keeping them in the experience there. And then if there's any descriptions that you wanna associate, with that club announcement, you can add that here. You can also add links within the description too if you wanna link out to other things. And then below is all about scheduling. So, do we want this active right away? Are we, scheduling it or are we wanting it to post right away, or do you wanna just get ahead of things and have this scheduled at a future date? Is there an expiration or not? And then you can also you have the option to specify what club announcements by home club. So maybe if you have, you know, new tennis courts at club a, you wanna really focus on your members at club a and let them know about the new offerings there. If there are, like, home club specific offerings or, announcements that make more sense to have that be narrowed down to that audience. And then you hit save, and you can see which ones are active, within that, within that club within those club announcements on the app. Something to note is we do have 10 is the max amount of club announcements that you can have in that kind of, like, turn style. So as a user, when going through, you can have multiple ones, but, again, 10 is the max. Alright. So going to move on then and cover packages next. So I'm gonna jump back here for a second. And packages. And then, so this these middle graphics right here is what the experience looks like for your members or nonmembers, if you allow them in the app, when they're searching for packages to purchase through the app. So you do have the option of selling, selling packages through the POS, through the profile, or through the member portal and the mobile app. You can select which packages can be available there. Then again, it is by user group as well, so you can get really specific about who should be able to see what packages. Then I, as the end user, when I go into the app, I can explore all the different package offerings. I can see all the details about them. The pricing, I can filter by pricing or by the session type or by the department. And then this is all the this page for packages encompasses the whole experience. So I also can see, like in the middle there is what packages do I actively have on my account and then any previous packages. And so the graphic next to it, the image next to it there is just showing the full breakdown of those details with the packages that you can see before making that purchase. So, again, this is what experience looks like for the end user. Now how do we get that available on the app? I will show you right now. Alright. So within, the tools option here, we will go to our package tool and select any package that you want to, have available through that sales channel. So, I have an individual pack package here. This applies both for, individual and class packages. Here you can see I just have user profile and point of sale selected as my sales channels, but then if I decide, like, hey. I want this, you know, I want another channel open for our members to be able to purchase this, you can click on member and portal, and then you get a different set of options here. You have your required payment at time of purchase settings. So yes, yes, no, house charge or no. Allow payment plans on the member and portal. So if you do have payment plans associated, we are still, pulling that through for users that are purchasing it through, any of our member facing platforms. And then you can name it something specific that you want. You know, sometimes, like, you know, zero two p T one zero one, that's not exactly, like, intuitive to an end person, but maybe internally, that's how we know to identify packages. So we want it to be a little bit more, user friendly, if you will, and give it a more naming convention that's easier for the user to understand. So you can have that title there and then a description of the package. And then you have your event calendar similar to group class setup where you want, for basically what departments that you want that package to show up under when a user is searching through, package offerings. And then, again, you can narrow it down to which users that are logged in can see, packages that are available to purchase. Alright. Moving on to, instructor bios here. So pulling up, the last image on this slide, instructor bio is a really great way. This is available, this was available in actually, I should say that the club announcements, the packages, and instructor bios is a feature that is available in both the legacy and the next generation app, our new app. And so instructor bios allows you to, really just set up your, your staff bios and then have that be available for members to be able to interact with, to see, to read, to view. And then where that shows up is anywhere in the app that there is, a staff instructor coach associated with that event. So, right now, that would be classes and programs are probably the main ones there. When going through and booking those, you have the option to see the, like, see the picture of the staff person, but also to be able to read their bio. And then it's also available in, appointment booking, which is a new feature that we'll talk about next. So where do we set those instructor bios at? Let's get into that. Okay. So, where we set the instructor bios is on the actual staff person's profile. So we are going to pull up our friend Billy Blinks. So on the profile, you have all the normal tabs as you do for the member with the addition of staff info. So we're gonna click on the staff info tab and then on the staff settings. And then you have the different tabs depending on how many departments that that, staff is assigned to. So you can also, you can also decide what bios that you wanna set up for, like if you need a different bio for an instructor depending on the department, you do have that option. Otherwise, you can just copy and paste and have them, the same bio across any department that that user might be interacting with. So if we scroll to the bottom here, we can see if you hover over, that's where you can add a picture, change the picture, update it. It's not gonna default pull from whatever the profile one is, so you can upload a separate one there. If we want to, add or change any information about the bio, we'll go into edit here, and then you can enter in, anything in this open text box for the description. And then experience, certifications, and contact info all have their separate fields, and we'll show that way on the bio. Alright. And let's move into last but not least, which is the, appointment bookings. So this is a new feature that we have in, in our NextGen app. There we go. So all of the images on this slide takes you through, basically, the flow for, someone that just joined your gym. They're a new member. You they had bundled in a free personal training or a free assessment fitness evaluation, package on their account. So I'm a new member. I just logged in. I can see here on my home screen, no check ins yet, no balance. I just joined, but I do have a package on my account for a free assessment. Amazing. Let me take advantage of that and go ahead and book that thirty minute assessment. So you can see here in these next slides, this is what that, booking experience looks like for the user. So they can select their time. They can book by day or if they know an instructor because maybe they've been seeing some pictures around of, advertising certain trainers or something like that. So they can look through the list of instructor bios that you would ideally have had set up, and choose the instructor that they want to book with. Or if they just care about the day, then they can go ahead and book a a time and date instead. You can see, in the third image there that we are letting them know, great. This assessment is included in this package that you have, and we are redeeming it. And then finally, it'll take you after completing that booking back to your schedule, with the success toast and then the option to add to your calendar. Now for the setup part. So give me one second here. Alright. Left off at the staff profiles here. To set up the the appointment booking, really, there's two major steps. One is setting up the actual lessons that are available to be booked online, so that's what we'll cover first. And that is only available in using the new schedule. So, I'm gonna go to our personal training here, switch to the new schedule, And then to get to online settings for those lesson types, we have to get to the settings, icon here. What I do wanna call out is that if you have your filter set to, just overall and it's not a specific department, you won't see this gear here. It's not gonna open up to all the departments. You have to select a department first. So whether it's fitness or group x or whatever it is, there has to be a filter department first, and then you will see your settings icon. So we'll go ahead, click on that, and then you can see the department settings for fitness here. You can change within this page if you need to. So the best place really to start is just on the service and the lesson type itself. For anyone that, maybe is not so so familiar with the new schedule and hasn't been on this side of it, this is pulling any of the lesson types that you already have or session types set up for that department in the back end. And so that's what we're seeing here. We're not adding anything, any new session types from this page. We're just seeing the ones that we do have available. So you're gonna go whatever session type you want to be available online, that's the one that you're going to choose. So let's go ahead with our fitness assessment. That was the one that we saw, the user went through and booked. So we're gonna go to edit. This first top half is just about what is going to show and pull through to the schedule. The bottom half is where we can say, okay. For online, how do we wanna control what can be booked and when and who can be booked? So, one first is just, can the session be booked online or not? So if we have that unselected, we won't see anything. If we do want to make it available, then we click that and have all of our options below. So first we're saying, yes, we do want this to be available online for users to book. Second, we're saying what instructor should be available to book? You know, maybe, Amanda has been here for forever. She's got no room on her calendar. She's not really trying to take fitness evaluations, and so we don't want her to be, an option available online for someone to book with. So that's where you can control who can which staff can be booked. And then the second is, do we wanna create a new rule or just pull in an existing rule that we already have? And then the rules all just have all of these settings, associated with it. So our, fitness assessment rule, we're just giving it a name, and then we're saying what can be, what booking intervals can be booked, and that is pulling from the what we have up here. So if I have sixty minutes, that's just gonna be the default. If we add in one fifty and one twenty, we'll have those options, on the bottom as well. So you can see actually, let me pull in. Let's create a new rule here, actually. So, we'll do fitness evaluation two since there was already an existing one. And then we have our booking interval. So what options of time frames do they have to select from? We can see here. We'll just say sixty minutes, and then that's the default. If we were to have selected all of them, then we have our options of what the default one should be when going through that flow. And then your, other settings here is how far in advance, do users have to book and then, what is the maximum booking range that they're able to book something. So minimum, notice before they can and then maximum notice before, they're able to make that booking. Once that's saved, that is your first part of having this available online. The second part of all of this is making sure that your staff members have their availability set up Because, basically, what the phone is what the app is doing is they're looking at those settings. Okay. Great. Now this is available online. But if we have staff that have no availability set, then the app doesn't know what times to time frames to show the user when they are available. So this is also a new feature that has come with the new scheduler. And so if we go back to the main schedule here, you can see we have a bookings view and then availability view. And in the availability view is where you set that for all of your staff members. So if we want to just select, see. Let's select Adam. I just I wanna add a new availability, actually. So we pick our department for who it's for, what's, what staff member are we setting that availability for, when are we starting that, and then the times here. So, you know, you can add multiple blocks if maybe in the same day, they work from 6AM to ten, and then they take a couple hour break and then work from two to five or whatever that is. And then you can set that on a reoccurring basis as well and say what days. Maybe it's just Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and then it's a different schedule, Tuesdays and Thursdays. But setting this availability up is so crucial to that appointment booking, capability for your end user. And what we've really seen the best use case for this is really that flow that I, that we saw, which is that you have, some type of, like, complimentary first session or evaluation, wellness assessment, anything like that that you do allow for members to be able to take advantage. Because I know it's hard to capture and maybe book something right at the time that they're buying their membership. So, again, just giving them another option and opportunity to, down the road, take advantage of that, of that, package and and deal that you're giving them. Alright. I am just doing a time check for myself and seeing I have, like, six minutes, so I'm gonna continue moving through here. Okay. So we touched on all of the the main existing features. Again, club announcements, the, pack being able to sell packages online and instructor bios are available on both versions in case we have anyone here that's not yet on the next gen version. And then appointment booking is only available on the next generation version. And so 12.6, where we started out was 12.2, for the new app. And so we are now at 12.6. And some of the new features that we had available with 12.6, which we released, about two months ago, maybe slightly more, is a couple of things here that we can call out. So calendar integration enhancements. A lot of the feedback that we received on the old app from members was, hey. I have a Apple phone, but I don't use iOS calendar. Honestly, I cannot blame them because it is not that intuitive of a calendar. I too don't use it. But so what they were asking was, I don't use this native calendar app. Can I use a calendar app of my choosing? I use Google Calendar, or whatever other calendar is available, Outlook or something like that. So I wanna be able to set my preference of my calendar app to be able to sync my events to. So this first image here on the left is what we're seeing in pulling up any calendar apps that a user has on their phone and surfacing that to them to be able to select what their default calendar should be. And then next, we're giving them the option to sync just automatically sync any future bookings that they have on their schedule so they don't have to manually go to each event and then add it to their calendar. Again, this was other, feedback that we were seeing. So we made these enhancements to that experience in 12.6. The next thing here in the middle, is a group list view for resource reservations. So for anyone that is wanting to see, multiple reservations that are available for the same time frame, this is what that experience is addressing. And so that, again, was based on feedback that we got both from, probably people on here and also, from your end users on wanting just really a better experience and easier way to just glance and see what's available at what time. And so that was something that we were able to implement with 12.6, which we've gotten really great feedback on so far. And then the next thing here, my membership. Today, it's very common for you to be able to easily manage any kind of, like, subscriptions or memberships that you have through an app. And so what we wanted to do is really bring, provide a dedicated page to any kind of membership or add on user group related information, and have that be easily accessible from the app, both in the legacy and the next gen. It was a little bit buried, and so we did wanna bring that out and give it its own home. So it does have its own, button on the profile page to be able to get to it. So whether you allow anyone to do anything in terms of canceling or, changing memberships, we are gonna introduce hold memberships first. That's all gonna be done from here or being able to purchase an add on or a membership. So whether you take advantage of those features or not, they'll still be able to at least really easily find and see information related to their, user groups. And then lastly here is the instructor showcase. So, again, this is another place where those instructor bios would show up, But the instructor showcase is if you can think of it like a staff directory, I know I've seen in a lot of visits to some of our customers or even my own gym, a lot of the times there will be TVs with, you know, kinda Rolodex of profiles and new trainers or, you know, introducing, like, a new class and who that trainer is. And so this is just, again, another marketing channel for you to be able to have your members, be able to engage and interact with, all of the staff that you have. And so, in addition to this, you can see that there is a next upcoming class. So for any staff members that you have on here that are, that teach any kind of classes, we'll also pull up their schedule and let the member book from that page for whatever next upcoming class they have. Alright. In twelve point seven, what's new in twelve point seven? So we do have a lot of new features coming. Again, the timeline for this is that we will start releasing this to customers in the next two weeks, and pushing there. So if you are someone that's on the next generation app already and are interested in updating a 12.7, please let us know. But the new features that we have included here is a redesigned navigation. So this is what you've been seeing throughout the slides, for the new images. And so we've moved to a neutral background just because it's a bit more, up to date with design standards and apps. It's a little bit, of a fresher and cleaner look. And so, your primary colors will come out in all of the different areas around the app. So for example, that access card, which is also an update here, giving more real estate to the barcode so it's easier to find for new users, to the app, that has your primary color in the background there. The different navigation, buttons will also have the primary color. So there's still showing it a lot through the app, but we have moved to this neutral background and then a consolidated navigation bar. So, it a little bit more closely mirrors what the legacy app has so that, one, it will be an easier transition for anyone that's on the legacy app to migrate, but, also, we heard a lot of feedback from your members about, just liking the experience of being able to go to one button and see all of the offerings. So we have that explore button back, and then a my schedule, home, and then any, our classes or programs can be booked through the activities tab on the navigation bar. Some of the other new features here is a, is a section on the profile page that allows your members to streamline any kind of reservation, bookings that they do. And so you can see on the below the what's happening on the screen there, there's a reserve again section. And so for anyone that has made any reservation, those, filters have been our sticky filters, so they've been saved. And then that reservation will show up for whatever department they made their reservation under, under reserve again. So if I just booked a tennis court, I see it immediately pops up on my home screen to reserve again. I click on it. It takes me to that form with all my previously selected filters. I can change anything in the moment that I need to, but it just helps streamline that process. And then Perkville reward points for anyone that is uses our, partner, platform, Perkville, for any kind of loyalty or rewards, features, we are bringing that a lot of their features in natively in the app. We do have, a good amount of people that are using Perkville, and we've seen really great feedback and responses from members, of those clubs that use Perkville. So we really wanted to be able to enhance that experience. As we know, reward points is so fun and is honestly such an easy way to have your members engaged and, and really, like, sticking around, right, and then wanting to collect those points and, redeem them. So we have started off with just showing the reward points that a user has on their profile, and then we'll slowly, build every feature that they have natively into the app. So first is senior reward points, and then next will be seeing those points history. And then just a couple of last things here is the custom payment amount. We have it on the member portal now behind a a a feature toggle. And so if you do wanna allow that for your users, we'll now have that in the app as well, when paying their bill. And then the other biggie here is guest passes. So if you use guest passes, your members will now be able to see how many guest passes they have on their account, when they're set to expire, if they are, and then any activity related to those guest passes for anyone that has used and redeemed a guest pass from their profile. Alright. I know I am a little bit over here, so I apologize. The, the last bit here is the Apple developer accounts. I don't know who wants to hear those words because it's very frustrating, and I totally understand. But I did just wanna call out that this is the number one blocker that we have to update anyone's app, because Apple loves to update their agreements, semi frequently throughout the year. And so when they do that, you have to whoever your Apple, developer account holder is has to log in and then agree to those latest, to the most recent agreement updates that Apple has. Until you do that, we'll not we are not able to upload that build and then submit it for you for approval through the stores. So, I know this is a tough one, and I do believe we have a link to, steps that walk you through how to do that. But you should also get emails, and I know we all get a million emails a day, so totally understandable to miss them sometimes. But Apple will also email you when there is an update to your agreement. So just wanted to kind of touch on that, housekeeping item there. It is not unfortunately, not anything that we can control. We don't have any, like, connections at Apple. We can't talk to them. We can't do it for you, but we can see that it needs to be done and then communicate that. And, unfortunately, with the developer accounts, this is about as much, as we can do there. So, just wanted to make sure I call that out for everyone. And then, any questions? Again, thank you so much for anyone that has stayed on because I know we're a bit over, and everyone's time is very important here. So, again, thank you for sticking on. But, yeah, just wanted to leave a a few minutes, if we have any questions. Yes, Alyssa. I have a couple that came through. Do you mind if I ask them to you? Yes. Can do I need this? Okay. Yes. Shoot the questions. I think I I think everyone can hear you now. I hope everyone can hear you now. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Excellent. Let me know if if my device sound goes out. So, yeah, we had a lot of great questions. Thank you all for asking them. My name is Mitchell. I think a lot of you know me. So nice to speak to y'all. Thanks for coming today. One of the main questions we have is when is twelve point seven going to be available? So can you can you speak to that real quick? You might have said it already, but just a reminder. Yes. We love a timeline question. So we have 12.7. We just wrapped up basically testing to make sure it doesn't break anything, over the last three weeks for this version. And so we are going to start releasing this and have this be available to update, after, September 24. So next Thursday, basically, is when we'll start, when we can start creating those builds and pushing them out. And, again, just as an additional reminder, we have control over when we create your build. As soon as we submit it to Apple and Google, we unfortunately lose the control for timelines. So their approval process ranges so much. Recently, it seems like it's taking a little bit longer, like, more to the five to seven day range. But sometimes they surprise you, and you'll see it available, like, in the next five hours. So, it really, really is hard to find a pattern. Awesome. And then two more questions that were kind of, I thought, good ones to ask for asking in front of everyone. Does each new app version require members to re log in? Great question. It does not. For anyone on the legacy app, when you do get, updated to the next generation app, because it is technically a different code base that we created this app off of, they will be logged out the first time, but it will look like just an app update to them. So they don't have to delete their app, go to the store, download a new one. They will just need to log in again for the first time. And then any app update after that, they will not be, forced to log out. So if I'm going from twelve point six to 12.7, I will the user won't have to log out. Right? Correct. Awesome. Thank you. And then I guess just one last one. We had a lot of great questions again, so thank you. I hope I try to answer most of them. The one of the last ones was when you were talking about appointment bookings, are there plans to make this available for like massage, etc? Great question. Thank you for asking that because I did want to mention that as I was going through appointment booking. There are plans to have appointments that require a resource or some kind of space with it, like a tennis lesson, a swim lesson, a massage for a massage room associated with it. We do have plans to do that. It's not yet available. We are hoping to start work on that this year, but I don't have a more defined timeline yet. Awesome. Thank you, Alyssa. I appreciate it. Those are kind of the main ones I I thought would be good to ask in front of the group. So I'll go ahead and have you, finish it off. Yeah. Thank you. And and, again, I know we're, very over, so we can wrap this up. We'll look at any outstanding questions that we didn't respond to. But I did also just wanna let you know, we have the links on the side for the release notes for twelve point six, the upcoming twelve point seven, and then steps about how to, reconcile the Apple developer accounts when there's updated agreements. And then I did just wanna let you know after this, when you receive the email with the recording, we will also include a little, kind of walk through of the 12.7 version. I know that's always kind of the biggest, probably the biggest ask and curiosity is what does this look like? What are all the different pages look like? It's a big update from the old one, and it can feel a little bit scary. So we did just wanna show a walk through of of what that, what the different experiences will look like and some of the updates to 12.7. So that will also be available, in the email following up here. And with that being said, thank you again for all of the time and the questions. I can't wait to review them afterwards. I may follow-up with some of you. So, again, my name is Alyssa in case you see me pop up in your inbox. And, thank you so much. Thanks, everyone. Enjoy the rest of your day.
