And in this episode of LG Meets, we are going to talk to Screencastify. Today, we are joined by Amy Olschlager, trainee trainer at LG Electronics, and Sean Conaway from Screencastify. And today, our the title is teach, reach, repeat, Screencastify in the classroom and beyond. But this is really important topic for back to school. So we're gonna talk a little bit about, elevating, curriculum and amplifying that in your classroom with Screencastify and the LG Create Board. So I'm gonna hand it over to Amy. Amy, why don't you tell us a little bit about your partnership with Screencastify? Thanks, Debbie. Yeah. I'm Amy Oslager. I'm the training specialist with, LG. And about a year ago, I was at a conference and had the pleasure of meeting the CEO of, Screencastify. And, during that conference, we, had some great conversations around how the, LG Create board could work with Screencastify. And so we continued those conversations. And then just recently, I got to meet Sean, and we got to partner together to, show how Screencastify and the LG Create board can work together in the classroom. I'll pass it over to Sean, and he can introduce himself. Thanks, Amy. Thanks, Debbie. Hi, everyone. I'm Sean Conway, the vice president of customer success at Screencastify. Really excited to be with you here today to chat a little bit about the partnership between LG and Screencastify, specifically how the LG Create board partnering with Screencastify from a technology standpoint can increase the reach of teachers within the classroom, but also beyond. And so as Debbie mentioned, when we talk about how the actual learning process goes, we're really excited to share with you all today how if you partner with the LG Create Board and then pair it with Screencastify, how there's a really significant increase in the amount of interactivity that can take place both within the classroom and then as well as when students are at home. And so I think as Amy mentioned during our presentation at ISTE, one of the things that we were really kind of energized by was the the common thread that brought LG and Screencastify together in that Amy and I were kind of chatting a bit in that a lot of teachers sometimes, they'll have this really fancy board, but if if they're not always kind of ready to move on to the next step, it really just becomes a a kind of presentation board. And Screencastify, we have a and had a similar issue in that there's a really strong association with COVID and remote learning and Screencastify. And for years, we have been really actively trying to break that association for a whole lot of reasons. And I think when we consider the present day interactivity from Screencastify being a company well before that, We have always had the intention to impact in person learning, and I think there's really no better partner, than LG with their create board to help us do that. Right on. Thanks, Sean. So we're gonna go ahead and get started with the demo then. Let's do it. Alright, everyone. At this point now, we are gonna jump into a little bit of showcasing some of the kind of dual functionality between how the LG Create Board works with Screencastify. I think this is especially important when we consider the time of year. We know many of you have either maybe started school, you've been there for a week or two, others might be starting or have just started, you're getting to know your students. And one of the things that as teachers, I've heard this in my house over the last couple days, you really want those days to be engaging and interactive. And I think one of the the parts that we've already kinda mentioned briefly was the way in which utilizing the LG CreateBoard partner with Screencastify can really increase interactivity when students are in the classroom. So I'm gonna throw it over to Amy now, kinda walk us through a little bit about some of the functionality of the Create Board, and we'll go from there. Thanks, Sean. So I'm really excited about the fact that I can open up, the Screencastify app directly on my, LG Create board. So right now, I'm just in my, Chrome browser. I've opened up Screencastify. You can see I'm in my library. So I have access to all of the videos that I've either created or I've pulled in from the, Screencastify premium library here. So I have access to not only videos that I've made, but then also videos that, that are here in the library. And you can see there's just, a ton of different videos that I can pull in, as well as going back into my library. I've got the videos that I've created. I have organized them a little bit in different folders, and then I also have videos that have been shared with me. So Sean shared a video with me, sent that over to me. We'll talk a little bit more about that in just a little bit. But I'm I'm able to access just a wide variety of those videos directly on the LG pre award. One of the things that, I'm really excited about is the live learning aspect. So, Sean mentioned that we wanna make sure our students are engaged. We wanna, especially the beginning of the year, we're setting that tone of how we're going to be, you know, teaching the class and, and the types of things that we're gonna be doing in the classroom. And so one of the things that, really excites me about, Screencastify is the live learning aspect of it. So when I go in and I touch this live learning, what I'm able to do is I'm actually able to take a specific video, that I have, and then, add in questions, add in activities, and students can access that either on their own devices. But what's great about the create board is that they can access that just by coming up to the board and answering the question there. So, I'm gonna throw it back to Sean. He's gonna, give us a little bit deeper look at, how to access that live learning, and go from there. So as Amy pointed out, once we actually click on that live learning, we have the different video options that are currently seen in my live learning library. Each of these videos that you see here are all examples of ones that I have already pre inserted questions into during the video creation or post video creation process. So if I wanted to go through and host an activity with my students in the one of two main ways that Amy mentioned, I'm gonna find that video right here, and I'm gonna click host live. Once it throws up this settings pop out, I can then go through and really think about the point and purpose of the activity that I wanna execute in my classroom. If it is having everybody log in through their devices, then I might go through and pick by email address. Or if it's a maybe parent activity with back to school or meet the teacher night where I want them to do a couple interactive questions, I can always select by name and then the participant can add in their name as they go. In this case, we'll keep it as by email address. I'll think about how much time I want my participants to be able to answer those questions. If maybe there's some younger learners or we want them to get through a maybe longer question, I might kinda pop it out to twenty or thirty seconds depending upon what it is. If it's a longer type question or if I, as the teacher, want to insert a small discussion as we are having that question be visible, I can always make it sixty or ninety seconds depending upon what it is that I'm actually gonna ask the students to do. These longer ones are more likely in the second example of what Amy talked about, where the teacher sets the video up along with the create board, and then the whole class is actually watching the video together. So there is not individual participation. But in this case, Amy might call on a student. The student might come up and then actually select the answer once the video is playing, which we'll show you how to do in just a second. So in this case, we'll keep it as ten seconds. We will not display a leaderboard, but wanna show you the options that you can if you choose. You can show all of the students in your class. You can show the top three or top five based on performance as they go through and answer those questions. But for our example, we'll say no leaderboard. And then once I'm ready, I'm gonna click start game. At this point, it's going to bring up two ways for me to join. The first is via QR code. So if a audience member or a classmate or a student is actually gonna be joining with their device, they can always scan it with their Chromebook on the QR code. If they're using their phones, they can scan it with the QR code. But if you have 30 students all on a Chromebook or a student device, they can copy the code, and then they can just type in this or they can click on the hyperlink if the teacher has shared that link with them. They can copy and paste that to access the different activity that they're actually gonna be starting when they go through and do it. So in this case, it shows me, Sean Conway, has joined. I'm gonna jump over. The teacher will then see that Sean Conway has joined. If we are doing this as a whole class, you can simply just click start game. You can double check your settings. If you wanna change it, you can always do that before you actually start, and then I will click start game. Now you'll notice this is a tutorial video that I previously created for how elementary educators want to use video annotations and webcam tips while using Screencastify. But you'll also notice that there are three multiple choice and one short answer question that the participants are going to be able to answer as they go. So in this case, it went through and it's going to continue to play. Now I have this question that's popped up. This is the teacher view or if we were doing it as a class, they would actually have it. But on the student view, if I was looking at it, it would have shown you that. As you can see, I only gave it ten seconds, so it threw a times up. This is where if you are especially on those first times using live learning, maybe give yourself a little bit more time, especially as you just saw, we very quickly ran out of time. Now once the time is up, we then are gonna go through it's gonna tell me what that correct answer is, and then we're gonna continue on. So as you can see, this is gonna work really well if students are on their individualized devices and then the create board is actually showing the teacher view in the background. Or if you're using it for a whole group, maybe the class is on the carpet, and then Amy is calling students up one at a time to actually pick the answer on the board. So, overall, we've seen a ton of application for this along with how how nice in terms of the interactivity the create board is. Amy, not sure if I forgot anything, but for love you to chime in anything that I might have forgot. No. I think that's great. I was just kinda following along on my create board with a lesson as well. So, you know, especially one of the things I I kinda realized is that time is really important because, you know, if you're gonna call a student up or have them, come join you, twenty seconds is certainly not gonna be enough time for them to come up, read the question, and answer it. So definitely, having those choices of, you know, the ten to up to ninety seconds, is really, valuable. Totally. And I think that that's a great point. And as we all know, you know, we we sometimes in our house refer to it as time optimism. We we think things are only gonna take a short period of time when in reality, you add 30 learners, and it might sometimes kick a little bit in terms of how much time is needed. So certainly makes sense. And I think when we think about the live learning, the functionality of the create board is just such a positive kind of partner to how live learning and we think about interactivity in the classroom. And one of the items that Amy had mentioned previously too was that on top of all of this, one of the things that makes us, I think, the most, appealing is just the ease of how kind of simple it is to create this. And and I think, Amy, I was watching kind of as I was going through it too. And the create board, the functionality is super smooth. Like, it to me, at least, it looked like it was pretty intuitive in terms of how you can kinda go through while you're projecting screencast behind the create board. Yeah. For sure. You know, it's it was easy to to kinda follow along and and go through the steps to get this set up. You know, obviously, as, a teacher, I would I would wanna have this all set up ahead of time, you know, on my computer and then just be able to log in. You know, I'm logged in to Screencast by right there on my create board. So, I've got everything ready to go. I've planned out my lesson, and then I just bring it up here, and was able to choose the lesson, that I wanna take post live and then pick those settings and go. So I didn't have, thrown at spending time kind of bumbling around at the board trying to find those things. It was easy for me to to get going with it. And then I do wanna add, I was just, you know, as I was going through this lesson and thinking about it, a couple of things that I noticed, number one is we did have captions set up, on here, but then there was also the captions that were on the create board. So, having that option of the closed captions so students can follow along, is, is, you know, kind of the added benefit, of, you know, displaying it on the board. But then the other thing that, the creative board has, is the side tools, over here. And so at any point, you know, Sean kinda talked about the board or the video is running, and you've got a specific amount of time. But if at any point, I wanted to, maybe stop and annotate something on the screen. I do have, you know, an annotation tool, and what it does is it essentially freezes the screen. So if I wanted to be able to highlight something that's, that's here or even one of the questions, I can pull up that tool and then, you know, I can write directly on the board, or I can have a student come up. Maybe we're doing a math lesson, and we wanna stop and pause and work out that lesson. I've got that tool, right here ready to go. So, not only am I able to use the tools within Screencastify, but then I've also got the tools that are available on the create board that allow me to, enhance that lesson and ideally increase that student engagement too. Amy, you just touched on, I think, a a core piece of of ways in which we have seen interactive, like the Create Board, really kind of embolden the way in which teachers can meet the needs of many students all at the same time. And I think one of the ways that you well, you mentioned several ways, but I think the first one was the captions piece. I think that it's really important to kinda highlight the way in which we think about live learning or any video in the classroom, and then you have the create board showing to the majority of the students is that there is, several ways in which we can reach more students, especially from a world language standpoint, than we were previously. So, for example, kind of one of the things that Amy was mentioning was that if we are showing a live learning quiz, for example, or any video, is that she had captions set up. And so, like, just, real quick, if I'm going to show a video to my students, I've got 30 students in the classroom, and let's say, of the thirty, ten of them speak Spanish, two of them speak another language, two of them speak another language, and so on. The way in which captions along with the create board, if we layer on individualized devices for the students, this can really become something that's very individualized in the best way possible. So if I pick a video that I have created right here, as Amy mentioned, she had captions enabled. And so you'll notice right here, I also have my captions added. But the way in which this really helps us is that I can show this video to my class on the create board. And if I am going to do kind of approach this in a way that I want as many of my students to be able to watch and value this as a possible, we we would think that the English students as they're watching it are gonna be able to hear. Maybe we can keep English captions if we want, if the teacher is kind of diagnosed that as the best way for their students. If they then also want to add on or if it's a dual language classroom or if it's a world language classroom, they can always select Spanish as the captions, in which this case, we had 10 students in Spanish. We then now have English as the audio playing on the video. We have Spanish as the captions. But then if we couple this with saying to our other students in the class, hey. Feel free to use your student owned device and watch this video as we go. If they are watching it at the same time, they can always pick the language that they want for it to be most comfortable for them to actually process and watch this as they go. So the way in which the create board as one layer and then the teacher being able to kind of utilize that, stopping the screen, which I think from a functionality standpoint is so helpful. You pause the functionality on the create board and then you actually make sure every one of those students who might be on their own device, they know exactly where to click. They click on the button. They click on the drop down, and then they the teacher can actually pause that video, not even from the pause of Screencastify, but from what's happening on the create board, then walk around and make sure that all the students know how and what way they are gonna be able to best access that content. So the the way in which these kind of, things work together, I think, is just really impressive. So, Amy, I'm really glad that you showed that. Not sure if that sparked anything else as I was kinda, riffing off of what you had just shared. Yeah. No. I think, I think I feel really, comfortable, you know, by obviously, my expertise is is more the create board and you're, you know, you're the expert on Screencastify, but I but I think with this partnership, you know, it's allowed me to really understand more about, the ease and use of Screencastify and, and how it really can benefit, our teachers in the classroom. And I think one of the things as we think about kind of some of the items we've shared so far in regards to both captions and and live learning is that they're they're very simple to use. And I think that one of the intentional components of Screencastify find how we actually built these was for them to be pretty intuitive. And that, of course, there's training and and stuff that goes into it, but we want it to be relatively straightforward. And I think that one of the the ways in which the create board can aid that process is through which, you can even do it on the create board. And so I think that what we'll do now is I'm gonna throw it over to Amy in terms of we walk through what it the videos look like once the quiz creation has been completed. But Amy's gonna show us a little bit about how that process actually works. Yeah. So, if I go into my account here, down here, I've got the quiz option. So I'm gonna go ahead and select that. And then once I do that, I've got a couple of different options. I can, hit new video quiz. I can search for ones that I've already created. So, again, I can create these at any point in time. I'm gonna go ahead and hit the new video quiz. When I do that, it's gonna give me an option of videos to use. So, again, it brings up my library here. So these are all the videos that are in my library, and then, of course, I can also hit that premium library and find a specific video. I'm gonna go with basic multiplication today, so I'm gonna hit that and select. And then when I open this up, it's going to have the video here, and then it's going to give me an option of where I wanna add a question. So I can add it directly at a specific point. So maybe at the start of my video, I wanna add a question about, you know, what do we know about multiplication or, you know, give them maybe, like, a little, pretest here with basic multiplication. But then I also have an option of, using the AI. So I can say, alright. What type of question do I want? Throw a multiple choice or short answer. How many questions do I want? And then I can select the grade level. So we're gonna hit third grade. And then when I hit that generate questions, it's going to come up with those questions for me. And so it allows me to, have those questions created, in that video for me, or I can simply, like I said, add my own questions. But now I've got this question, and it's giving me the time where it's being added into the video. So at 02:41, I'm gonna have this what's one way to think about two times three. At 06:50, it's gonna give me another question. And then at thirteen o nine, it's going to have, those. And then if I like those questions, I can hit hit add. So I'm gonna go ahead and hit that add all. All those questions are gonna be added in. And you can see here that I've got the questions now, in my video, and then I can still go in and add additional questions. So, I can use the AI generated ones, but then also add in my own, at any point in time. So then once I'm done and I've created that quiz, then, of course, my options, I can preview it. So I might wanna see and make sure that it all makes sense before I, send it to my students. I can set up a due date for them. I've got all those things, but I can also just hit that host live. So then that takes us back to where we were where, we've got that ability to then host this live. My students can join in. Same options, those settings that, Sean showed us just a few minutes ago. And then I just hit that start game, and there I go. And so right now, I created, a quiz from a video, and, I mean, it took me all just a couple of minutes to get that set up and ready to go for my class. So that's something I can do, you know, easily during my planning time, or, you know, even just a couple of minutes before those kids come back, from from lunch or recess, and get that ready to go. And so along with that live learning, obviously, you know, we've got the quiz creation. Go back here. I can save that. So that's just gonna save within my, my library once I've done that. So now I've got, the quiz here, and and that's ready to go at any point in time that I wanna use it. So I can just continue to add those quizzes, use them over and over again. So from year to year, I can use them or with, different classes. So lots of different ways that, I can bring that in. And then the next piece that you see down here on your assessments, we've talked about the live learning. We've talked about quiz, and the next piece is submit. So I'm gonna have Sean come back and, tell us a little bit more about the submit features that we have here, in Screencastify. Thanks, Amy. And I love that you mentioned a a thing that so many teachers are dealing with right now is, like, time. It's like, when am I gonna do this? And and you mentioned maybe, right before school starts or right before in between a passing period or or that the time is so finite and especially at a time now where teachers are dealing with new students coming in two or three days into school or finalizing rosters and getting their theme of their room set up and just perfect, time is just not our friend right now, unfortunately, when we think about the month of August. But Screencastify, along with the crate board, can hopefully save you some time in minutes, and I think that it's important to encapsulate this within the time frame that we currently are at, which is back to school season. And as a part of that, we also know that there's some nerves that can kinda be a part of that, whether it's teacher nerves or new students or it's our first year or our twentieth year of teaching. There's always that thing when the school year starts, and part of that is introducing ourselves and our students introducing themselves to us inside the classroom. And I think that one of the unique parts about Screencastify the create board is that we can now kind of acknowledge and and help and support students in a way that maybe we had not been able to do previously. And so if we think about introductions, how students enter into the school, how they enter into the class, and there's a lot that goes into that, whether it's how they pronounce their name or how their summer was in ways in which we can maybe put them in the best position to feel successful. Submit can really aid that in terms of everyone feeling good about those original and initial introductions. And so if we think through the kind of process of a student coming into the class and introducing themselves to everyone else, sometimes what does that look like? It it's the student, saying their name and and, hi. Nice to meet you. It's my second year at this school, and I went to here this summer. Well, talking in front of a group can be a lot, and and when we think about it being a lot, we really wanna make sure that students feel supported during that process. So there are times when submit can really help us put students in the position to be able to get through all of those really cool fun things that they maybe wanna talk about, but they just don't quite feel super comfortable talking in front of their class just yet. So submit can help. So if we think about going into submit as Amy pointed out, I can click new submit topic. I can title this student introductions, and then I can give my students some directions. And then I can add a few other items that I might want to include. So how, what is your preferred name and how do you pronounce it? What was your favorite part of summer? What are you looking forward to this school year? And we can just include a few questions, and now the student is gonna have the opportunity to complete the submit assignment on their own device and then send it back to the teacher instead of maybe having to stand up in front of the class or stand up next to their desk and say it and get a little nervous during that process. And so I'm gonna go through I'm gonna make a couple adjustments because they only need their webcam, and then I'm gonna pick Google Classroom if I'm integrated in Google Classroom, or I'm gonna pick generate a link. So if I use Canvas or Schoology or another LMS, I can pick generate a link, and then I would just share this via hyperlink in the same way that I would a Screencastify video. I'm gonna give permission to anyone with the link, and students cannot view any videos because I just, as the teacher, want those to only be for me and then be able to share those if I choose to, which is gonna be something that we show you how to do in just a second with Amy. I'm gonna give the students two minutes just so we don't get any, you know, longer responses that then take up a little bit more time. We'll give them two minutes. We don't need any points for this one, and then there's really no due date because we might have some students that come in or maybe they're finishing up a family vacation or they were traveling abroad, so we wanna leave that open. And when I click create and share, now I'm gonna have a hyperlink to be able to send out to my students. So if I send this out in a Canvas assignment or in Google Classroom, they're all gonna end up here with this student introduction direction page telling them what to do. So what I will show you real quick is how the introduction would go, and then we can make this a little bit more smooth process potentially for those classroom introductions at the beginning of the school year. So at this point now, I'm actually doing my recording. So I would say, hi. My name is Sean. I had a really great summer. My favorite part was going to Colorado with my family. I'm really looking forward to the school year because I love learning and I'm really excited to see my friends, and recess is my favorite time of the day. When I click stop recording, now I'm finished. I'm gonna click submit. So once my video has been submitted, the really neat part now is that if I have all my students send me assignments back, I can actually partner with my create board to make this a really, more calm process for student introductions. So if I was then standing in front of the class like Amy is now, I have my create board next to me. Instead of students needing to stand up and talk about themselves and get nervous, I can have my 30 student introductions right here, and I can play them in videos. So instead of saying, Sean, why don't we get whoops. Sorry about that. Sean, stand up and tell us about yourself. I can play Sean's video. And what this is gonna do is that Sean can make sure that his video feels the way that they want it to. They can be kind of comfortable and confident in the way that they're talking. Now you can also switch it up. If students love talking in front of class and we wanna give them that opportunity because that's also very important, you can let the students that do wanna get up and talk to their friends and talk in front of the class also do that. But what this gives us is options. And the create board is so flexible that as I'm looking at each of these things, all Amy would need to do is just click on my video and then be able to play it in front of my entire class. Thanks, Sean. You know what I was just thinking about, while you were talking is, you had you mentioned, you know, you have students who maybe, you know, are still on vacation or students who, you know, for whatever reason, maybe, haven't started yet or haven't been at school, somewhere along those lines. And even, you know, down the road when you've got maybe an assignment, that you're doing. Because you've got that submit option, of course, anybody, whether they're in physically in the building or they're, you know, on vacation or, out of the building, they can still do that assignment and their students can meet them. So, you know, think about a student who's walking in maybe a week after school started, and they've already had that introduction happening. That's pretty exciting for that student. These kids already know them. They're already like, oh, that's Joe. He likes recess. And, so that practice gives that kid a leg up maybe when they're walking in, a week late or something along those lines. And then the other thing I was noticing, and maybe you can talk about this because since I don't have any submissions, right now in my class, is I noticed when I was making it, it had a option to show a highlight reel. So I was curious what that, that might look like because, of course, in my mind, the highlight reel, I'm thinking it's gonna be set to some music and, you know, we're gonna get really excited about that. But, tell me a little bit more about that. Yeah. Of course. And the the highlight reel is something that we are super excited about. And before we chat about that, wanna just really highlight what you would just mention because I think that's just such a solid point, Amy, is that when we all know that there are some of those those times when students are maybe not showing up till a few days after the school starts, and I love what you highlighted about how if those introductions were only happening in person on the first day of school and then they were done, that student might feel a little bit left out or a little bit different in a sense of not having heard them. But if we have them in video, they can, to your point, experience it the exact same way, which similarly is why we encourage Screencastify in general. Right? Like, making those those instructional videos renewable and reusable, but this is the same thing. And I I we can go even further in the fact that, like, introductions, right, are not only happening on the first day of school. If you are, sponsoring a club and the club starts in November, you might have students in your school that don't know you that you're doing the same thing in November. Or if you get a new student in November, or if you are a coach and you don't and you coach a spring sport, you might not have some of those students before. Similarly, trimesters or semesters when classes switch, especially at the middle and high school level. These types of introduction type activities are happening throughout the year consistently. So this kind of idea behind this, I think, is just so strong. And the highlight reel is is to kinda transition back to that is gonna be something that we are super, super excited about. And in in essence, what it is is that we are gonna give teachers the ability to utilize a collection of submissions and then be able to, in just a couple clicks, extract the highlights of each of those kind of activities and assignments that have been compiled within a teacher's library. And so stay tuned because that is gonna be something that as as it comes out and as people start to play with it, we are very excited to see and be able to show what that looks like. Awesome. I'm excited to see that. And then I was just thinking about, with, like you're talking about kind of this introduction to alum, throughout the year and so forth. I was also thinking about so when I was in the classroom, you know, obviously, I met not only with, you know, my students, but then, of course, my team and then, you know, the the whole school. We had staff meetings and all of that fun stuff. But I was just thinking about, like, our, you know, our team PLC. So we would get together, obviously, and, you know, talk about student data and things like that. And, you know, then we had that kind of task to report back to the rest of the staff or maybe when we had, like, leadership team meetings. And I just think about all the ways that, like, submit could be used not just with kids in the classroom, but teachers in the school. So if I was, you know, in my PLC and I wanted to really highlight, these are the three things that as the fifth grade teacher, we need to focus on, We can create that quick, submit and then have that, as part of, you know, either the staff meeting or just sent out, to all of the staff, and everybody can kinda see what, you know, okay. Third grade's working on this. Fourth grade, these are their goals. This is what fifth grade's doing. And, it's just a way not only for, you to connect, but also connect you know, we go back to time. Right? And so now I'm not standing up in the middle of the meeting, you know, talking for a couple minutes about that. I've done my quick submit. Everybody on my team and everybody at the school can watch what's going on. Such a great point. And I think that when we know right now, as we've we've talked about a few times, that everybody is so rightfully in the back to school mode, is that teachers to students is such a crucial part of that. But it is to your point. There's so many other layers to back to school. It's the the staff members on the the PD days or the days before institute days before school starts. How are teachers and their peers, do they have a new member on their PLC? Are there things that we want that person to get caught up to speed with that maybe we can find ways in which submit and or videos along with the create board in your PLC can then be utilized as a resource for that. And I think to your point about staff meetings, you know, staff and district meetings even larger than this is that how can a principal utilize a create board with the staff in front of them to highlight in the same way that we're talking about students? Is that does the principal send out a submit assignment to their staff and say, hey. What was your what was your favorite part of last year and what area of growth do you think we're willing to think about heading into this year? And now they can create, submit, kind of highlight reels and different examples of this to use a create board in the same way that a teacher is gonna show their student, they're gonna show their staff, and it's really gonna be interactive in the same way. Teachers and and staff can participate with the quiz and live learning in a fun back to school trivia way on these days. And, so it is far more than just teacher to student, and I love that you brought that up because so many other parts of this are outside of that. And back to school means principals welcoming their staff back in districts, welcoming their whole community back. So submit along with that can be such a strong asset. And I think I know we're almost at time, but that actually is a great segue to kinda wrap up one of the items that you had mentioned, Amy, near the beginning, which is shared folders. And I think this was a a newer addition that I think teachers and and staff, at large is really gonna appreciate. And when we think about back to school, we all know that there is a thousand things going on. There is information that is just flying back and forth. There's so much to think about, especially as Amy mentioned, if you are joining a new PLC, if you're teaching a new grade, if you're teaching a new class, all of these things just compound the stuff that you're thinking about all the time. So if we are in that back to school mode, how can the create board and share folders and our PLCs all work as one? And this is a new piece of functionality that Screencastify has released called shared folders. Amy had mentioned this at the beginning. When she clicked on this button, She had shown you a couple videos that I had shared with her. But this is now also an option that I have to share with my PLC or with my grade level department. And then, additionally, I can go through and share videos out. So if we are a we'll use math because I'm, that's a better example for Amy. If we are all teaching, sixth grade math and there's three of us, Ideally, Amy's taking unit one, I'm taking unit two, and someone else is taking unit three. And we're creating content based upon what it is that we are responsible for, and then Amy is gonna augment the parts that I do, and I'm gonna augment the parts that she and our other grade level teaching partner do. But in the end, we want this to be done easily. We want to make our time better served with not recreating stuff. So if Amy or I make a great video that we just wanna drop in to our class but the other person made it, If I make those videos and I put them all into a folder, so I can just drag and drop that video. You'll notice it went from two to three with the drag and drop feature that some folks surprised that's now an option too. I can click on these videos, and when I am in here, I can then see what options and what unit content I have, but then in a couple clicks, I can share those videos with Amy. So if I click on those three little dots and I click share folder I don't know if this is Amy's actual email. Probably not. But if I click amie@le.com, I can then give Amy the opportunity to view or copy those videos. Now in this case, if we're teaching together, I'm gonna give her the can copy functionality because now she's gonna be able to take my video with any AI functionality, quiz functionality, captions, and take that in its same state. But what it's also gonna do is it's gonna clear any student data that my students, by participating in that video, would have already accumulated. Now if I am back to Amy's point before, a principal or if I'm showing them on the create board where I had a math district content group make some videos that all math teachers want, I might say can view. This is where they say, hey. At the beginning of unit two, every math teacher has to show this video. So now they're gonna pick can view, and then they will only be able to view the video in the current state. But if we're teaching together, we'll probably gonna go can copy. I will then send that invite, and then Amy is gonna get an automated email in her email that says, hey. Sean has shared this folder with you. She will click on it, and then it's gonna copy it over to where she can then access it to the share with me button that she had mentioned before. So, Amy, I'm so glad that you mentioned that because the back to school time is so much more, with what teachers are dealing with. So thanks for saying that because it is so crucial. Yeah. No problem. I love that, you know, we can we can share not just, like, within our within our school. Obviously, you know, Sean's able to share with me. I can share videos with him. So we can do that across, you know, the school, across the district, maybe teachers that we've connected with, you know, across the country. So, lots of different options, of how we can share, how we can, use Screencastify, and then just taking that, and and enhancing it with the create board. So I'm super excited about all of the things. You've already given me some things to try out, after this webinar, so I'm excited about that. Same here. And, Amy, I think thanks for highlighting just such the deep functionality of the CreateBoard is gonna bring, students and staff this year. Because I think it's really exciting to think about how much now we can increase the interactivity, as opposed to something just being a screen where stuff is shown as this really does change the way in which information both can be presented, but also accessed and engaged with, which is really exciting. And so, super thankful for us to be able to showcase this partnership, to everyone out there. So thanks so much, Sean. Amy, what are your three favorite things about Screencastify? Oh my gosh. I would say, number one, you know, kind of a create board aside is the ease in making videos just, you know, from my device. So, whether I'm using my laptop or my, tablet or if I'm using, like, an OPS, the Chrome OPS with the create board, Just the ability just to be able to make videos so quickly and easily. So I would say that's number one. Number two, I love that live lesson feature that we talked about where, you know, you can have the students anything that's gonna get students up out of their seats, get them engaged, with the content is, is gonna be a favorite for me. And then lastly, just being able to share. You know? I work with, you know, my counterpart who covers, you know, the other half of the country, And, you know, we're able to share our videos and our, lessons with each other. And so being able to create those folders and then just throw them in there and share them very easily, is is really great, and it's a great feature. Right on. And, Sean, I'm not gonna ask you the same question, but because you did such a thorough demonstration here today. You know, do can you think of, like, any customers customer stories that have just recently started using Screencastify that made a come to you and said, wow. This is great or I really like x or or whatever. Yeah. Definitely. And and, you know, a lot of it really, I think, aligns and is similar to what Amy was just sharing is that, we've had several new districts, and partners, especially over the last four to six months with much of what we showcase today along with the kind of increased functionality for the create board and interactive panels and stuff like that. But what we hear typically is that it it's very noticeable to our teachers and students that we have created something with them in mind. Is that it is intentionally focused on how can it save teachers and students the most time or what makes sense for students or parents when they're watching a video. And so I would add on the translation option of it being, user driven so that anybody who has a a language that they speak at home that is not English, they can select the one that really fits their preferred method of communication. And so we've heard a lot of feedback such as that from from folks, along with kind of the way that we have intentionally and and thoughtfully put AI into the different pieces of the video creation process along with, what Amy had shared. I think that's that's a lot of the feedback that we're really happy to get, over the last little bit here. Very cool. Well, thanks again for joining us.
