Transcript for "OpenAI on OpenAI: How Our Marketing Team Uses ChatGPT Work":
Hi, everyone. Welcome to the latest episode of OpenAI on OpenAI. My name is Sahil. I'm on the product marketing team, and I'm joined by my colleagues, Chad and Benji. How's it going, guys? Great. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good. We're super excited to have everyone live. We got B2B marketers, B2C, CPG, DTC, all the acronyms. We were very intentional about this webinar being super relevant to all of you. And we're excited to have you all join us. You know, it's not often we get to come together as marketers and talk about the state of marketing, which is what we want to do here. And specifically, we want to share what we're seeing across our marketing teams at OpenAI and with our enterprise customers who are adopting ChatChpiti work. And by the way, this is going to be super casual if you can't already tell. So just drop any questions in the Q and A and we'll get to them. We're also going to have a separate Q and A session at the end. And don't worry about taking notes or screenshots. We're going to be sending a recording of this along with the specific prompts we use so you can replicate this yourself. That's super important to us. Let's dive right in into ChatChippity work. ChatChippity work is a new way to use ChatChippity that basically turns it from the question and answer bot we're all familiar with to the world's smartest personal assistant. Do you guys like the Froge treatment we gave it? It's like Yeah, super sound. Yeah. Yeah. 100%. And it's like a really cool different way to use ChatouchBT. And specifically what makes it most different is when you plug in ChatouchBT work to over 2,000 plugins that we have available. Things as simple as your Google Drive or Microsoft Office to your email and calendar and even specialized apps like Figma, Canva and Notion so it can take action across your workflows. This is what really makes Chatchaporty Work different from Chatchaporty. With all these plugins connected to your workflows, Chatchaporty Work can do so many different things from creating presentations, slide decks, and sheets, and docs from your templates to creating images and building an app and even automating repetitive work using your computer or your browser on a scheduled basis. We'll talk about that. And even building a website which we're gonna show you several demos about how that works. Yeah. Yeah. ChatChpT work can actually create websites for you in just minutes. It's pretty crazy and Chad has cooked up some really cool demos here. Now moving forward, I think if we look across our product suite here, I think we're in a really nice place. We have regular chat, which is your partner for thinking, researching, writing, and iterating together that's used by over a billion users every week. Pretty crazy. Now we have ChatGPT work, which is a way to delegate, automate, and have a partner for your actual day to day work, whether it's personal or professional related. This is how OpenAI actually gets stuff done for you like an assistant. Then of course, we have codecs, the flagship app for our software developer community. It's great at coding and that remains our flagship app for them. Across these three, we actually have a really nice product suite to use the latest and greatest models from OpenAI. Since we've launched, by the way, this is my favorite chart. I love this chart. We launched a couple of weeks ago and we have over 20,000,000 users on codecs and OpenAI words, and this chart is already updating. Unbelievable. Yeah. The proof is in the pudding. I mean, it looks like growth also internally. Yeah. In our departments, we're seeing. Totally. Everyone's using it. It's so cool that we're in this moment as marketing practitioners to reinvent the way that we do things. On that note, we're actually seeing a couple of internally and from our enterprise customers. Let me tell you a little bit about what we're seeing. Firstly, everyone is doing marketing now. We're seeing our engineers, our product teams, our finance teams even come to the table with marketing ideas. And they're not just like text messages like, hey, I think this is a good idea. They're coming to us with images, with creative ideas, which is so cool. And I think as marketing practitioners, we all know the feeling of like everyone has an opinion on marketing at the company as part of our practice area, and that's not going away. In fact, what's cool is everyone is now coming to the table with ideas. This chart really shows you the overlap across functions and how often they're talking about marketing with their own Chastity experience. It's a really cool time to be in marketing, and great ideas are basically coming from anywhere in the company. The second thing that we're noticing is the distance between thinking of a great idea and making it into reality is actually compressing. For example, Chad and I can grab breakfast in the cafeteria downstairs in the morning, and by the time it's afternoon, Chad already has that idea mocked up in a slide presentation ready to show to Probably before lunch. Yeah. Exactly. It's true story. Yeah. True story. We'll show you an idea of that, in a second. But the kind of timeline from thinking of an idea and bringing it into reality is compressing. And that's only possible with tools like OpenAI work. And so if we put these two things together, great ideas coming from everywhere in the org and making them come into reality as faster than ever. There's a third observation that we're seeing that is specific to all of us on this call, marketing leaders and marketing practitioners, is that the fundamentals matter now more than ever. In a world where there's an abundance of great ideas, where it's easier than ever and and cheap as ever to make those ideas come to life, we need our judgment now more than ever to figure out what do we ship to users, how how do we kind of make sure we're customer centric and we're thinking about their point of view. And we're seeing across the board that marketers are doing better work, they're getting better training with ChatChappiti work that's nudging them into more demand side thinking. And We're going to show you some examples of that. This is not just about working faster or getting things done with less process. It's better marketing, and it's actually driving the business. Marketing is fundamentally a human pursuit. Really, these tools are superpowers. I think you guys are going to sense that we're already having so much fun, but Benji and Chad, they're going to show you in their demos how much fun you can have with this stuff. We want to make this session super practical. By the end of our time together, you're going to learn how to do four specific things. You're gonna learn how to do synthetic customer research right from your desk in minutes if you don't have a research team of your own or you need to do something quickly. Secondly, we're gonna show you how to automate most of your email marketing workflows so that anyone on your team or outside marketing can come up with an idea for a customer email. Chad's going to show you how we supplement our marketing briefs with actual creative to bring it to life and actually use sites to build an entire website tool and an e commerce site all in an afternoon. And then Benji is going to show you how our users on ChatGPT experience ads themselves and how you as an ad manager can learn about what's working and what's not and kind of sharpen up your creative there. So all of this is super practical. It's whether you're B2B or B2C or anything in between, these things will work for you. And we're gonna send you all of this afterwards in an email. So let's go ahead and dive into the ChatChpPT work experience here. Now this is probably something familiar to all of us. This is just chatchppt.com. Chat2pt work, what's nice about it is it's available on web, which we're in right now, available on the desktop app, which Chad Nelson will show you in a second, and most of all, it's available on your phone. What's really cool is you can get work done on the go. It uses a Cloud computer. It's a really nice experience. We're in chat mode right now, but let me go ahead and switch us to work and watch what happened to the prompt window. It expands and it shows you plugins. The way that I like to think about plugins, if I go to the directory here on the left, you can kind of think about this like new hire orientation for ChatChippity work. And this is basically the way that ChatChippity as an assistant gets plugged into all of your contacts. So you can connect your It's the superpowers. It's the superpowers. Yeah. Exactly. It's your workflows and the way that you work these tools. We have over 2,000 different plugins. Everything is basic as Google and Microsoft to more specialized to us. You'll see Canva. It's a designer. Yeah. Then you might see some of his too. Shopify, for example. So you can plug in ChatGPT to all of these tools so it learns how you want to work, get work done and work your way. Once you've done that, then we can actually enter the ChatChippity work experience now that we have it all set up. Let's actually dive right in. I'm going to show you two use cases. One is going to be the synthetic research and the other is going to be automating the way that we do email campaigns. So let's go ahead and get started on the first one. Here is an example of marketing brief, and this is just for demo purposes. You know, it's a situation we find ourselves in all the time in OpenAI since we're shipping so much product all the time. You know, our product and marketing teams generally have great intuition about what messaging and positioning would resonate with users. And you'll see we have some of that in here. If you look at our messaging table down below, the tried and true PMM messaging framework table. And what's really cool is sometimes we're up against a tight deadline and we want to do some user research and we don't have time to go out in the field and commission actual research in real life. What we can actually do is build a skill to upload all of our previous research, our customer calls, and any sort of data we have from Salesforce and create synthetic buyer personas and put this brief into that skill and refine it. So let me show you how that all works. The first thing to know is that ChatChippy Tea work can use skills. Some of you have probably heard about this before. As a quick refresher, a skill is a way for ChatChapiti to do a specific task in a way that you want personalized for you. I think the easiest skill that we all tried when we were first onboarding the ChatChapiti work is to connect it to our Gmail, our Slack, and go through my messages in the past couple of months and learn my writing style. And I think it had some feedback for all of us. Yeah, exactly. I don't like to learn your writing style. You can ask it to describe your writing style back to you. It's a great sort of reflection. Which you might or might not want. Yeah, exactly. Feedback is. Exactly. And so what's cool is then in that instance, you don't have to start a Slack message or an email from scratch. You can have ChatchBT work draft responses in your tone of voice. That's like the easier side, but we're gonna dial it up on this call. And we're going to do an advanced skill, which is basically a way to create synthetic customer profiles based on real customer data that you've collected in the past. So if I go down here, this is just an example of how we would create that skill. We have some mock buyer personas we want to include. So these are some key C suite leaders that are in the process of deciding whether to buy a product like Chatouchability Work for their employees. And you'll see we have a lot more instruction here. And again, we'll send this all. What I want to focus on though is this is what it's like to actually finish a skill in Chatability work. You'll see this kind of panel here, and you can access it in the same plugins directory that I showed you earlier. And when I click on the buyer profiles here, you'll see that there's a lot of really cool information here about the synthetic profiles that we created, what she cares about, the likely questions she has, the bar for messaging and kind of where she's confident, where she has objections. We have it for all these different roles. And now we have this portable skill that you can share with your team so that anyone can run their marketing briefs or messaging through this synthetic filter to sharpen up their messaging. And let me show you what that looks like here. So here's kind of an instance where we're showing, use the customer positioning review skill we just created to pressure test the brief, which I've uploaded there, and put it through these buyer personas. Have each persona review the brief independently and have a discussion. So what ChatSuite teamwork will actually do is simulate a discussion amongst them. It's like they're in a meeting room. And it'll bring out what their scorecards are for different criteria. They'll debate. They'll debate synthetically. Right? The agents will debate and they'll have a buyer discussion here on what matters to them. They'll talk about positioning and then ChatGPT will intervene and tell me what to keep, what to pivot, and it'll actually spit out revised launch positioning. I know we're going to going quite fast here. I'm scrolling like a mile a minute. But this is just to give you an overview of how deep you and your teams can go right from your desk without having to commission dedicated research because we know how hard or costly that can be. That's pretty cool. Days, weeks that go into this. Yeah. You can get a quick and dirty. Exactly. Right? It's based on your data. It's based on your data, so it's real. It's based on real user insight. What's really cool is at the very bottom you can say, I like these recommendations, change the brief for me to reflect all of these things. So you get a sharper brief just in an afternoon. What's really cool is you can simulate this situation with internal conversations as well. I've uploaded meeting transcripts of all of our leaders and key decision makers at OpenAI, and I simulate discussions ahead of the actual meeting to see how they'll go and when the important topics come up. It's a really cool way to use ChatChBT work. What I would say lastly before we move on is, you know what team appreciates this whole thing the most? It's our customer insights team, the team that actually does the research themselves. Because firstly, they get to work on higher stakes research that actually moves the business. Secondarily, I can actually do this research from my desk to sharpen the research instrument, the survey, the interview guide, the focus group guide so that they then have a stronger instrument to go to the field with and get more bang for our buck out of that research. So it's all about keeping teams in the loop and sharpening up the way that we go to market with our customer centric kind of messaging. And this is just a quick example of how we do that using skills and our previous customer data. I see. That's great. Pretty cool stuff, guys. Alright. So let's go ahead and talk about the second use case, which is now that we understand what the brief looks like, we have a lot of customer centricity and demand side thinking in there. It's looking great. How do we do the fun stuff, the the emails for customers? You know, we have over a billion users on ChatGPT every week, and email marketing is a big important channel for us to communicate and educate our users on the latest products we're shipping. Let me tell you about where we were just a couple of months ago. This was our old e mail template. As you can see here, it's all right. I think our creative leader has some. There's some room for improvement. Some room, just to put it polite. Thank you. The reason why we were in this frame of templates is because our process was really manual end to end. It took a lot of human input to make these templates every time. We needed to keep things simple. But I think we can be a little bit more inspiring and a little bit more sophisticated with our templates. And so with ChatChpPT work plugged in with Figma, we were able to create a new series of templates that are a lot more dynamic that now we can automate the creation of those end to end. And just, guys, look how much more rich these new templates are. I mean, you have headlines. You have actual examples of prompts and copy. You have interactive elements here. Yeah. That's amazing. That that was the big part too. The the interaction. Is Yeah. It makes the email more fun and exciting to use. And by the way, the user can click on any of these black buttons and it takes them to their ChatouchBT app with the prompt already filled in. The team really worked hard on that. So I mean, previously, if we were to do this as our template, that would have taken two weeks end to end. I mean, I would have had to write the marketing brief, then do the kickoff meeting with our lifecycle team and creative, go back and forth on drafts, and then finally two weeks later get a handoff. All of that has been compressed in about two days, which is pretty cool. And we have beautiful emails that anyone can create. We can have our product manager, you know, use our our plugin, which I'll show you in a second, and he can send me an email variant. Say, hey, I think this is a good idea. And then we can have a meeting about that instead of the process and the brief and the stuff around the customer asset. Does that make sense? That's great. Awesome. So this is kind of how the email creation flow works. I'm gonna dive into the plug in specifically. But first, let me tell you a lot about what makes our emails and our marketing resonate at OpenAI, which which are use cases. Sometimes our products can get so technical that it's too much for the user to understand. Even for me, I can't even keep up with all the technical detail. So instead, we stick to use cases, which are what are the specific ways that ChatChBT can show up in your day to day life at work and personally that make this product special? So for ChatChBT work, what we did is we had Greg, our cofounder, actually ask our ex community, what are some use cases that you're seeing for ChatChBT work? And please share them with the team. And the response we got was incredible, guys. We got thousands of people sharing, and these are some examples here. We had people planning their weddings with Chatrapety Work, building health apps and language learning apps. We had people searching for an apartment. All kinds of really cool use cases. And what we then did was we had Chatrapety Work scan our internal Slacks and social media sites to gather all these use cases and build a spreadsheet of hundreds of rows of all the use cases that we've seen from people. Now this is tedious. How many rows are in this? There are hundreds of rows, and it updates every day. And so what's interesting is I don't think our teams need another spreadsheet to look at. It's kind of like a wall of text. So we thought, how do we make this more interactive? And we basically just told ChachPT, hey, here's a spreadsheet of prompts. Can you turn this into an interactive site, like a dashboard our teams can use to find specific use cases to feature in our marketing? And guys, look what it created. This is just a couple of minutes. It came up with this cool website where as a marketer, I can go in and say, okay, what capability of Chatgbt work do I want to talk about? Let's say schedule tasks. And then what life situation do I want to talk about? Let's say we're talking to knowledge workers like all of us on this call. And look at it came up with all the tiles from the Excel spreadsheet where I can just click on the prompt and actually copy paste it and use it in my marketing. How much more fun is this than a tedious spreadsheet here that makes work more fun? This is all supported by ChatGPT work and you can share these with your team. You can even make them public. Speaking of which, of course, we didn't stop there. The next question was, this is so cool. How do we share this with our users and make it public? What we actually did, and this is crazy, we scanned Instagram for all of the reels that mentioned ChatGPT Work and the team basically built their own social media app where we put together all the Instagram reels that featured ChatGPT Work and the user can just scroll through and see these different use cases. On the right hand side, they can actually see the prompt that was used in that situation and click on this button to actually try it themselves. This was all created using sites and it's such a cool way to actually go through the use cases and discover what Azure IoT work can do. By the way, this site is live, so you guys can go on this URL and actually try it yourself. Yeah. It's pretty cool. Sites is so powerful and it's a cool way to work internally, but also to show off work externally. Now that we have our use cases and I talked about going from these old templates to these new ones, I wanna quickly show you what that plugin looks like. So what you can do is if you do any sort of email marketing, you can break down every part of the process into specific skills. So we have like adhering to our brand guidelines, reading a brief. And And if you click on each one of these, it provides a lot more detail here, plugging into Figma and using your templates. And so this plugin is a package of about a dozen different skills. And now I can install this plugin, share it with my team, and anyone can use it to write emails. So you would just summon the plugin here at the top of this prompt box and say create five connector emails for knowledge workers that feature plugins and use our use case library. So this is a really cool way where Chat2pT will then go off and work for a couple of minutes, Then it'll start to use your files, and you can even connect it specifically. And then it'll output something like this. And now our meetings can be about how do we refine the messaging, the copy, the visuals instead of talking about the work around the work. And it's a lot faster of a way to get things done. It's amazing stuff. Yeah. And again, it's really cool that you can build that plugin and then share it with anyone on the team so they can just create emails themselves that you can then take a look at. And by the way, this isn't just about doing things faster. These emails that you see here actually performed a lot better on open rates and click through rates. So it's actual business impact. That's on the dashboard. Yeah. So that was basically two specific examples of how marketing uses ChatGPT work, synthetic user research right from your desk and then automating much of the workflows for email marketing to do them faster and rooted in real user use cases. Now I'm gonna hand things off to Chad, our creative team specialist, and he's gonna show you another example of how we quickly bring creative ideas to life using image gen and other things in ChatGPT to be cheap work. Chad, go for it. Well, it's hard act to follow. So I mean, seriously, that's very impressive. So, yeah, I'm Chad. I'm a creative specialist here at OpenAI, and I wanna take a couple minutes just to talk about how you can create using these tools. And we're gonna focus that focus that on kind of two key aspects, our image gen model, where you basically bring your ideas to life and visualize them. And then ChatGPT work, I wanna show how you can actually take that and use it to build interactive prototypes, proof of concepts, and, actually, in some cases, final production quality assets. Okay. So let's just dive in with, our first example here. I love this campaign so much. This campaign was incredible. And so we basically have our image model, image gen two, and it's an incredible model. It's it's literally best of breed, and it's incredible for its ability to produce fonts. Mhmm. It's multilingual. But the idea, you could take anything in your mind's eye and sent essentially can visualize it. So we've said, well, how do we capture that in a ad campaign? And so we built this as, say, taking very, very large format billboards, around various cities in The United States and saying, let's reimagine them, almost taking kind of these ordinary ad spots and turning them into something more extraordinary, almost surrealist existence. My favorite. Yeah. I love this stuff. So should we show you how we did it? Let's do it. Yeah. Okay. Cool. So let's go to ChatGPT work on the desktop app. Mhmm. So you'll see it's it's similar. It almost I mean, basically, it's just like you see, when you open up the web app, but it has a few more power, like, abilities and so forth. I personally like this as kind of my preferred environment. Same here. Yeah. Now I have a project folder here. You can see called reimagine with ChatGPT, and here's the various cities we launched in, and let's go into Chicago. Now we started with the scouting photo. So our location team went out, took these reference photos, beautiful day. The problem is it's from literally a street view. It's like at an off angle. So So we told them, like, well, can we get actual, like, straight on shots? Like like, do we need a drone or some of the cases that was impossible to do. So then we said, well, why don't you just ask chat g p t to see what it would do for us and help us out? So literally, this is the prompt. Let's just zoom in here, and You can see I just basically asked, make this a straight on view of the building, showing that whole billboard space. You can read the prompt, but I specifically asked for a very high resolution and also highest quality. So ChatGPT or ImageGen can produce at various speeds or quality levels depending depending on what you ask. So I'm basically saying give us the highest fidelity. And what it produced here, let's just say, let's click on the downloaded image, and you can see very nice image here. Just obviously exactly what I asked for straight on. And it pops up right inside the the sound. Yeah. I love it. Yeah. Exactly. So now with that, our team could start to brainstorm. I mean, literally, we could start to fill a whiteboard with ideas of what we would what we will put excuse me, put on that billboard. Now so we started with something here. You could see, like, in this case, alright. So we're gonna remove that blank billboard and replace it with a matching brick wall, and within that, we're gonna have the bricks falling away and almost, like, revealing a portal into another world. And you can see I asked for four variations at, again, high resolution at high quality. Now in three minutes here, you could see eight seconds. ChatGPT gave me four thumbnails. But instead of just kinda looking at these thumbnails, notice I have a little button down here, a little label that says Canvas. Yep. If you click that, it takes you into essentially a new page. And I like to think of this as almost like it's the mood board for your project and for your conversation. And so now you can see, of course, here's my Look at those wildfires. Yeah. I can zoom in. We can look at, of course, those results. But as if I zoom out here, you could see every single image that the team used in that conversation. And so again, it's a great way of visualizing your the kind of the body of work. Love the scaffolding. Oh, yeah. Let's not enter this one. This one, I think, is awesome. And the the quality is also very, very good. Yeah. So it reminds me of that photo in New York, you know, the classic yeah. But as I just scroll through here, you can see, you know, classic video game kind of shaped windows. Yeah. It's like a little monster. I love this luchador here floating. And then we have, of course, got to the iconic l train. Glasser Chicago. And and just the whole idea that it's emerging from this building in the air, very cool. Now Look how many variations will you get on that whiteboard? Yeah. And so you can imagine if you had that whiteboard filled with ideas Yeah. Normally I mean, honestly, a few months ago, we would say, okay. What are our best three or four? And that's all we'd have the time to explore. Yeah. This gives us the ability to literally go and say, let's actually kinda dive into each one, see what's working, see what's not Oh, yeah. And to your point, iterate. Yeah. So just to kinda go back then to or let's look at keynote here. So you there's the, again, the scouting photo, and I just show you the final composite of how it looked, in in the actual site. Wow. So that's ImageGen, and it's built right into ChatGPT. So you don't have to do anything. You just basically tell it, hey. I'm gonna make an image. You know, we'll just create. There's nothing to install or anything. So great example of a digital campaign, but I'm sure a lot of people and a lot of you out there are working with actual physical goods or you're in retail. Then what? How do you use this in those kind of situations? Now for this one, I want to come up with kind of a fictional scenario. So I'm imagining I'm a marketing manager for a company called Nova Electronics, just a fictional company. Yeah. And we're launching a new line of headphones called the Nova One. Now I just presented and our team presented all the marketing and the creative to leadership. They had some notes. I've been there. Yeah. I I I've been there. I'm not familiar with that. They they they they wanted to say some bolder ideas. They wanted to see this campaign really shine. And and so now we have to go back to the drawing board. Now many of you probably have the same situation. We have creative teams, they're stretched thin, budgets are tight, people are, you know, on other projects. So what do we do? Now this is a case where I think ChatGPT work can really shine because you can start to build custom tools for you get that are very bespoke to the needs at hand. So so in this case, I wanna show you how I built a tool to create assets specifically for this Nova One launch. Let's do it. So let's just go back to ChatpT, and let's close out of our NovaOne project or, sorry, our Chicago project. And I'll scroll down to my NovaOne here. So I built basically a design tool. And now the reason I wanted a tool is because I wanted to be very specific and and not to have, like, the noise of, like, say, a general use case with army knife, if you will. So in this case, you're gonna see let's just kinda I'm not gonna read through the prompt. It's a little long, but I wanted to give it enough detail to kinda really give us some guidance. So you could see how I started. I'm I'm marketing I'm on the marketing team of Nova Electronics, and we're building a new line of headphones. And you can see I asked for it. I wanna be able to iterate things like out of home, social media, and print and so forth. Yeah. I'm uploading three d headphones, so the actual design art. I wanna be able to change text and and, adjust the copy and scale it, just the background. This is like a tool you wanna build. Yeah. So I'm basically kind of telling it the guidance of how I need it to work. But importantly, I also wanted to match our style guide and our brand book. So you could see here, I actually attached our brand book as a PDF. I mean, it's no different than any other brand book. I mean, it it it didn't need to be reformatted or anything. Yeah. You could see it has all the basic information, logos, and color guides and so forth. So I know you all have brand books. So just insert it or upload it into ChatChiPT. It'll it'll break it down and understand it. And then last, I included, a wireframe of what I wanted the actual tool to look like. So it's to kinda guide it because rather than describe this with words Yeah. Of, you know, it's, you know, a picture is a thousand words. Right? So this made it a lot clearer. Now do you wanna see what it created Oh. In in a whole let's see here. Seven minutes and thirteen seconds? Yeah. Okay. So let's take a look. And let me switch over to my tab here. And That's so cool. This is the first version of of basically the tool. Now you can see if you remember that wireframe, I have all my inventory of the assets. So for things like Instagram posts here, my Instagram stories, digital billboards, I could take and move my copy around. I can adjust the scale with control points, but this is what I think is so cool. I can actually bring in my real time or my my essentially, the actual headphone products. I can scale it. And so now what I have is a full layout tool that can actually build all the design layouts. I could, of course, change the slogans and so forth, but I need to produce those high quality images. Yeah. So let's just go back to ChatGPT work. And you could see here, I asked for things like, basically, here, I asked for I wanna create a generate feature where I need to be able to create those high quality assets. You can see set the quality to high. Wanna have multiple variations. I asked for things like a review page. So as I generate, I wanna be able to see that my work. And what you'll notice here is I'm just basically iterating back and forth. With it exactly it's pretty fast exactly I mean this only took a minute. Yeah. This one you know if I scroll back up here this one was that was a little longer at nine minutes but you can see basically in about an hour yeah I'm ripping with it back and forth. So you don't have to think about doing a master prompt that's like Yeah. Just really kind of brainstorm with it. And just to show you kind of where it ended up. Let's go back here. I added a lighting feature. So you can see here now I can kinda show the lighting. And now any art director and doing product photography, you absolutely have to control lighting. Yeah. Yeah. I could hit generate, but let me just show you some of the generations that I was able to create. Double click. I could save let me as I generate a lot of images, I could favorite things I could download where then I could take it into Figma or Adobe or Canvas. This was like a whiteboard idea fifteen minutes ago. Yeah. Okay. That's exactly a two two story. Yeah. That's for sure. And so now I have literally a production tool that I could use to very, very quickly accelerate a lot of ideation and get a lot of visuals in front of my team and then ultimately to my leadership. Now they also want to see a website. Of course. Of course. Alright. So let's take, another hour Yeah. Yeah. And build a website. And so let me show you example of what that could look like. So go back here. I have a in the same NovaOne project, I now have another conversation, if you will. And so in this case, you can see I'm asking for a website. I included a few. I like to have my kind of a human in the loop. I like to tell ChattyPT what I am thinking. So I loved I mean, I'm I'm a big fan of whiteboards, so I do a lot of whiteboard sketches. So you can see here I'm just asking for things like, you know, okay. I wanna have a real time three d rotation view of the headphones. Here's a color selector. So anyways, give it to some wireframes. They're they're kind of messy, but that's fine. And I also gave it, a strategy document, which was just kinda what marketing had already developed for all its kind of Features. Yeah. Key campaign messages, etcetera. And then lastly here, I gave it, some of my, basically an art pack, a media kit, if you will, of of some of the art that I really liked that I created. Now in building the website, of course, I go back and forth. As I said, it doesn't have to be one master prompt, but this was basically about an hour. And let's just take a look at the website, which you can see Oh, that's cool. Here. Oh, wow. So it took my design, that wireframe, and turned it into that that kind of style. I actually did some AI generations of, like, showing what we could do with the product photography with actually people wearing the headphones. Here's our color selector. You know, basically, here's that real time three d viewer. And then last, I actually added a nice little kind of media section where you could actually create videos and and display them. And so the the key point here is, I mean, I am a creative guy. Mhmm. I'm not a software developer. I actually don't code. Yeah. But I built all of this. I mean, from the tool to all this art to this website Right. In basically a day. Yeah. And I think that's what's so amazing is as your creative ideas, whatever they are, you can now envision them and bring them to life. Yeah. And I think what's so fun for me as a creative is that that just means there's new ways to talk to customers, reach new customers, and I just think that's what makes this whole time and these tools so incredible. Yeah. And so speaking of reach, why don't we talk a little bit about advertising? Good transition. Thanks, Chad. Well, so, I mean, Chad is really a hard one to follow. Let's be quick. But, let me just move this over. Keynotes. Wanna take us to keynote? Yeah. Just down here. There we go. Beautiful. And then do this, and then you're us up. It's live. You know? Yeah. Yeah. Live. Thanks, Chad. Yeah. I I mean, ultimately, our goal of marketers is really to drive the growth of our businesses. Yep. The understand, the work, the create, all of that is really in service of growth. And to achieve that goal, we need our marketing messages Mhmm. To reach customers. Now currently, we're seeing pretty major shifts in consumer behavior. Now what hasn't changed is the fundamentals of the customer journey. You need people to discover your products or services. They need to they need to consider them, and, of course, they need to buy. But what has changed is that, you know, that that previous that previously that critical stage between discovery and purchase, you know, where people are comparing alternatives, exploring possibilities, you know, understanding trade offs, deciding what to purchase, You know, that took place across a myriad of different online and offline options. You know, you talk to friends, you look at videos, you go to review sites, you know, countless, you know, countless different options. What's different now is all of those actions have consolidated into one place, OpenAI ChatGPT. And this creates a fundamentally new opportunity for marketers. You see, people come to OpenAI ChatGPT with goals. You know, they might be planning a trip, choosing software for their business, maybe furnishing a home. In this case, you know, they're looking for headphones. But instead of of entering a few keywords, they explain what they want to accomplish, what matters to them, what constraints they face. You know, in this case, the headphones are for work, travel, and home, you know, the person really isn't sure what features are gonna be appropriate. Now, of course, the model then provides an answer to the prompt, helping frame how to make that decision and helping moving that person closer to their goal. ChatGPT has become the place where decisions take shape. And again, Asad was saying, with more than a billion users each week, these interactions are happening at scale and that creates a fundamentally new channel for marketers and that is ChatGPT ads. You see with ChatGPT ads you can reach consumers as they discover products, as they compare options, as they're deciding what to buy. But let's be clear, the ads do not influence the responses from ChatGPT. I mean this of course is essential. Trust is the foundation of this opportunity. People trust the decision guidance from ChatGPT and our ad platform was designed with protecting this trust as its North Star. Guided by our ads principles, ads do not influence ChatGPT's answers. They're clearly labeled and displayed separately. But our mission is straightforward. Make ChatGPT the place that people come to to make decisions, and as in ChatGPT, should be useful in those decisions. So how do we decide what ad to show? Our system is designed to use a combination of signals including one, personalization from users' chat GBT experience when that's available, and two, the context of the current conversation. And this allows marketing messages to appear both contextually aligned with the active conversation, but also more personalized, not just based on the current conversation, but based on ChatGPT's context on that individual overall. So in this case, our Asimov delivered an ad for Novo electronics headphones. I really Yeah. Yeah. Is, of course, related to the current conversation, and you can see sound in perfect balance. Now the copy is really benefits focused, and it kinda fits naturally into the conversation. That's different than you might use in in other channels like search or social. We found the copy that feels more native to the channel performs much better. And of course, if the user is interested in the product, they can click that and be taken to the website that that chat signs. So clearly now Nova is running ads on ChatGPT. How is ads performing? Normally this is a complicated question, you know, it requires pulling reports, accessing multiple tools, and of course you can access your ChatGPT ads reporting through our API or through our ads manager tool. But actually now we've built an ads manager plugin for ChatGPT for Work and and you can do it right there. You know, what previously might have taken you days or weeks, now with our plugin could hopefully take hours and minutes. Let's see. So let's go. Let's download the plugin. On the left hand side, go to plugins. Let's search for ads manager. You can find it. It's pretty easy. Yeah. We'll plug it in. It moves a little bit quickly since I know, we wanna get to some quick answers. Yeah. From there, let's ask the questions. I mean, what do we really wanna know? We wanna know how our ads perform. Yeah. And so it's completely conversational now. Oh, it's it's great. And Yeah. It's not just a dashboard of of basically media. Yeah. Essentially, the analysis paralysis that so many times you can experience on some of those dashboards. Yeah. You don't need to be a performance marketer to understand what's going on. No. Exactly. So we're running three ads right now. You know, your world, your focus, hear every detail made to be yours, and you can see, you know, just look at data, some click through rates, some conversion, it looks like your world, your focus is doing better, but that's the basics, right, that's reporting. I think what's amazing here is what do we really care about, which is why. Mhmm. Yeah. Right? And that's that's a hard thing to get from straight tools and reporting. So let's let's ask the model. Well, why why are one of our ads performing better than the others? Yeah. That's so cool. Probably that would happen in a meeting. You'd have to schedule that conversation with the team and, you know, kinda figure it out. But now you can just do it live from your desk, which is super cool. Exactly. And so let's see let's see what the model says. Looks like your world, your focus, the the creative is doing well. It's it's converting at a higher rate, and the conversions are performing positively. So now we know why it's doing better, but what really what we wanna do is we wanna take action. Yeah. We wanna how do we improve the campaign? And so again, let's ask the model, what should we do next? That's so cool. And what's cool is you can also pair this with ImageGen with what Chad shared earlier in your creative team so you can kind of create a loop between what the ads manager is saying is working and then your creative workflows and really kind of work a lot faster iterating on the creative side. Yeah. I mean, we we used to take days, now it takes minutes. Yeah. Right? And ChatJub Diaz offers marketers something that has never existed before, an opportunity to contribute to those key moments that are shaping decisions. Now, Chatchpi Ads are now available in 40 markets globally. We actually just launched 31 markets in Europe yesterday. Yeah. Yeah. So to get started and learn more, you can head to, ads.openai.com. But with that, I will hand it to Sahil to take a look. Awesome. Thank you, guys. Appreciate that. Well, so we're wrapping up here. And, you know, to recap, we just showed you four really specific ways that you can use Chatsubishi Burp regardless of the type of marketer that you are. You can do user research right from your desk using synthetic personas. You can automate your email marketing workflow so that anyone at your company can come to the table with an idea, with a completed template, and then you as a marketer can use your judgment to figure out whether you wanna ship that to your users. Chad showed you how to bring your ideas to life using ImageGen and even creating internal tools, but also external facing ecommerce landing pages, which is super cool. And then Benji showed you how our users experience ads in ChatchBT and how you or anyone on your team, even outside of a growth or performance marketing function, can learn about the performance and inform what they do. And, you know, ChatChaPT work. This is just kind of the surface level. You know, it's it's informed the way that we do marketing on such a deeper way across many dimensions. And, you know, AI tools like Chatability work, they're not just about getting things done faster or moving process or taking on more. I think of those as like secondary benefits. And I'll speak for Chad and Benji here, but keep me honest, guys. Like, we're just having more fun now because we're doing less work around the work. We can offload the tedious parts of our job and focus on the stuff that kind of I think what we were hired for, which is our judgments across strategic and like creative angles. And then when your day is full of those kind of meetings end to end, it's just such a more rewarding way to show up to the office. It's energizing the back of the sky. It's so energizing. Right? And so that's what we hope to share with you, and we hope that we spark some ideas of your own to bring this back for your team. As a reminder, you can try Chat2p2 work today on your mobile device, on web, or in our new Chat2p2 desktop app that Chad showed off. And at this point we'll transition into Q and A. And just a reminder, we'll also send you after the Q and A a follow-up email that has a recording of this session, all the prompts and some of the flows that we've used. You can also reach out to our team directly or on the ad side if you're curious about diving in. Thank you again for joining us, and let's get into the Q and A, guys. We're looking at your questions here. We have one here. Justin asks, we'd love to see here some clear marketing examples of when to use ChachPT work, ChachPT, and codecs. Great question, Justin. So ChachPT is the partner that you can use for thinking of an idea, whether you're writing stuff or researching things. And I like to use that when I'm riffing on an idea. And so whether it's a campaign idea or some customer facing copy, I find that ChatChippT is a little bit more natural at writing and creating outputs. And of course, it's available anywhere that you you go on your devices. ChatChippT work is when you want ChatChippT to actually get a task done, to create outputs, to help you with the process that you have and automate certain things. So it's more about doing things. And then codecs really, for most marketers, is not entirely the most relevant tool to use because a lot of the Chachapiti work back end brings in the power of codecs. So there's no need for you to use both. I mean, sure, if you want to code something, you can do that in ChatchBT work actually. Really, it's just about ChatchBT and the work mode. We also have a question around when do you use ChatchBT work on mobile? What's really cool, guys, is know if you come to our office you'll see people taking their twenty minute mental health walk across the the park here and you'll see them speaking into their phones. They're talking into it because they're getting ideas and then when they come back to their desk right. It's like a brainstorm partner. Yeah. Everyone recommended you have folks. Exactly. You aren't many people using voice already, but look at the stats. There's still lots of opportunity. You use try voice. Yeah. Voice dictation and mobile specifically is like a magic combo that I use at the airport. I use it everywhere I go to get work done on my phone, which is super cool. And you don't need to have your laptop on or anything like that. I think we have a question for for Chad. So this one, how do you keep everything on brand when you're generating images, multiple formats, and interactive product experiences? Okay. So that's great question because that's one of the reasons why I also create projects. Yeah. And with projects, just as we showed how you could add skills, the documents that you give it, things like the brand book or your style guides, those become rule systems that you can say these are kind of the truths that you need to then ChatGPT should pull from when generating these images. And if you basically kinda identify, hey. Here's the actual product, like the style guide for, say, that even just from a photography standpoint or the logos or the rule system, as long as you're pointing to those correct files, it will then use those to then generate those assets. And that's kind of key and that's why you set up projects. Obviously, in terms of there's you could interpret and and and it can sometimes make a mistake every now and then, but that's where human judgment and you kind of still will do some reviews. But ultimately, if you just give it that information, it will do a very good job at staying on brand. Amazing. That's exactly right. I think we have a question here for Benjamin. Right next. Which regions is ChatGPT ads supported in and what about Portugal? So as of yesterday we're supported in 40 countries. I won't go through the entire list. But, but we just launched in 31 markets yesterday, including Portugal. Right now, Chatibias in Portugal are available via our direct sales team via, partners, and via agencies, but we'll be coming to self-service, before the end of the summer. Awesome. Congratulations on that expansion by the way. Thank you. Yeah. Yeah. It's been a great week. I see we have a question here from someone on why would we use ChatChpPT work over other AI agentic tools? Great question. So on the enterprise side, a couple of things. You know, we see a lot of our customers want a multi vendor approach so they contain they can maintain that optionality. And, basically, you know, instead of having one provider, you can choose the best tool for the job. But specifically, there's a couple of really interesting reasons why I think Chats50 work has seen a 4x growth rate in just a couple of weeks. Firstly, we deliver more value for your AI budget. We've specifically trained our Frontier models to give you the biggest bang for your buck, and we're continuing to drop the prices of those tokens every day. And so we want an environment inside OpenAI and for our enterprise customers where people like Benji Shomair, people like chat are not afraid to play around with the tool to innovate. I mean, this is how great ideas come to life. The last thing you wanna do is give your employees a token budget. Right? It's like being at Chuck E. Cheese as a kid. You just wanna kind of play around. And and, you know, that's where the most powerful business ideas come about is when you're just riffing with, you know, an AGI like tool. It's pretty cool. Secondarily, you know, we've trained our latest Frontier Models 5.6 specifically to be great at creating artifacts from your templates. So whether you're creating slide decks, sheets, or docs, or even creating websites, we perform a lot better on those dimensions and other providers because we were very intentional about the way we train the model. The other thing that I'll mention is that everything here is built for enterprises. So the stuff that we created today, you can easily share it with your team, whether it's skills or a plug ins. We have CDR enablement and and enterprise controls to help you control spend and usage as well. So it really is ready for whatever size team or enterprise environment you're in. And then lastly, my favorite part is voice and mobile and all the things that make this more than just a desktop app. Our teams are continuing to ship so many features. And I think this is part of our DNA because we started as a consumer app. And so everything that you do on the enterprise side just feels like you're using the same app you would outside of the office. And what we're seeing is that really helps with adoption. It helps with people onboarding to these tools, and I think that's a unique strength that we really bring to the table here. At this point, I'll hand it over to Chad for a quick question here on, AI creation. Yes. The question is from Daisy. How good is AI creation for videos? Okay. One of the ways that I've been using ChatGPT work for video production lately Yeah. Is let's just say even in that website, you notice how we had the four videos for the the nova kind of Yeah. You could give it, say, a product feature list and say, okay. We need to create four videos. Yeah. ChatGPT, give me basically scripts that would be fifteen to twenty seconds. Give me those scripts. I could, of course, review them. We could riff back and forth on those. And then I can say, okay. These scripts are locked. Now take imagery, auto edit an animatic for me, basically. And then using our voice technology, it can actually voice narrate those videos. And I think that's what's kind of crazy is that you could basically use it to even just create those storyboards of those animatics right out of the gate. Now there's obviously many video models out there and other tools you can use, which you then can take it to. But I think that is where I'm using it now just to communicate and riff ideas again in video form. That's so cool. That's amazing. Yeah. Awesome. Well, I think we're about to wrap here. I think the summary that you've heard from today is that each one of us three are going above and beyond our traditional job titles. We're taking on more valuable work. We're moving up the value chain. We're sharing all of what we're building with our teams to really create a unique culture here at OpenAI of doing marketing in a very, very frontier way. And we're really glad to have all of you join and hopefully get a taste of what it's like to build. At this time, we just like to thank the team that helped put this together. Camila, Nate, Michael, you know, Dane and Colin Fleming as well. It was a group effort. Joe as well. Yes, Joe and Vasi as well. They helped put together these plugins and tools. And we just like to thank everyone here for coming out. Thanks, everyone, for joining us. And look out for the email that has all the information that you need. We can include the details on the ads, on the enterprise offerings, and all these tools which you can use. Yeah. Yeah. And I look forward to hearing the feedback because if there's things that we wanna do a deeper dive into, I think that would be great for us. I mean, we can plan other sessions and and kind of, you will, double check. Into a podcast. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We'll make this on a roadshow. To see us again. Yeah. I Yeah. See us again. Yeah. Just let us know. Yeah. We'll get our agents involved. Yeah. And that's cool. Thank you, everyone. Thanks, everyone. Have a good day. Bye.
